The Battle of Atlanta was a battle of the Atlanta Campaign fought during the American Civil War on July 22, 1864, just southeast of Atlanta, Georgia. Continuing their summer campaign to seize the important rail and supply hub of Atlanta, Union forces commanded by William Tecumseh Sherman overwhelmed and defeated Confederate forces defending the city under John Bell Hood. Union Maj. Gen. James B. McPherson was killed during the battle. Despite the implication of finality in its name, the battle occurred midway through the campaign, and the city did not fall until September 2, 1864, after a Union siege and various attempts to seize railroads and supply lines leading to Atlanta. After taking the city, Sherman's troops headed south-southeastward toward Milledgeville, the state capital, and on to Savannah with the March to the Sea. The fall of Atlanta was especially noteworthy for its political ramifications. In the 1864 election, former Union general George B. McClellan, a Democrat, ran against President Lincoln, on a peace platform calling for an armistice with the Confederacy. The capture of Atlanta and Hood's burning of military facilities as he evacuated were extensively covered by Northern newspapers, significantly boosting Northern morale, and Lincoln was re-elected by a significant margin.

WUPA (channel 69) is a television station in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, airing programming from the CW network. The station is owned and operated by the CBS News and Stations group, and maintains studios on Northeast Expressway (I-85) in unincorporated DeKalb County (with an Atlanta mailing address); its transmitter is located near Shepherds Lane and Arnold Avenue in the Woodland Hills section of northeastern Atlanta (near North Druid Hills).

North Ormewood Park is a neighborhood on the east side of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, located in the northern part of Ormewood Park. It is located between Reynoldstown, East Atlanta and Grant Park and adjacent to the mixed-use development Glenwood Park. It is bordered by Moreland Avenue, Glenwood Avenue, I-20 and Stovall Avenue. It is a designated Drug Free Commercial Zone.

Eastside refers to the city district comprising the easternmost portion of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The Eastside generally encompasses the area bounded on the west by Midtown Atlanta and Downtown Atlanta and on the east by the city limits. Beulah Heights University is a not for profit, private institution offering higher education in Atlanta, Georgia. The university was established in 1918 and is accredited to Association for Biblical Higher Education and Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. Formally, the university was affiliated with the Christian-Interdenominational religion. Beulah Heights is approved by the State of Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission for granting of Associate of Arts (AA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Doctor of Ministry (DMin), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.

Ann's Snack Bar was a small restaurant in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia famous for its hamburgers. It was owned and operated solely by Ann Price, known to patrons as "Miss Ann," and was in operation from 1971 to 2022. The house special was called the "Ghetto Burger," a double bacon chili cheeseburger with a secret ingredient, which her patrons named as a joke. Another signature burger with cole slaw was called the "Hood Burger."A 2007 article in The Wall Street Journal called the Ghetto Burger the best hamburger in America. In the same article, the author declared Atlanta to be the best city for hamburgers, citing the Vortex (in Little Five Points and Midtown Atlanta) and the EARL (in East Atlanta) as other Atlanta restaurants with top hamburgers. Fans include celebrity Sean Combs and a "horde of Twitter-driven food enthusiasts", who began to discover the restaurant after a 1998 Atlanta Constitution article.Price had been attempting to sell the restaurant and retire since 2009, initially setting the value at $1.5 million. As of late 2010, the difficult real estate market had forced her to lower her asking price.Price died on April 18, 2015, at the age of 72. Cause of death was not stated, but Price had been suffering from blood clots and breast cancer. The restaurant remained open, as Price had taken on assistants over the few years prior including her cousin Adele, and was most recently ran by Price's sister and three brothers.As of April 2022, the diner has closed.

Reynoldstown is a historic district and intown neighborhood on the near east side of Atlanta, Georgia located only 2 miles from downtown. The neighborhood is gentrifying and attracting new families, empty-nesters, Atlantans opposed to long commutes; as well as diverse culture of first-time homebuyers, single professionals, artist and students due to its close proximity to other nearby intown neighborhoods, high walkability index, urban amenities and nearby bohemian hotspots on Carroll Street in the adjoined-at-the-hip also historic Cabbagetown neighborhood and in other surrounding communities.

WHSG-TV (channel 63) is a religious television station licensed to Monroe, Georgia, United States, serving the Atlanta area as an owned-and-operated station of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The station's studios are located on Agape Way in Decatur, and its transmitter is located in Atlanta's Cabbagetown section. Because it airs no local content (except for local insertion of the required station identification), it is not carried as a local channel on DirecTV; the network's national feed is already available, but TBN's subchannel sister networks are not available. It had one broadcast translator, W55BM, licensed to Marietta with transmitter atop Sweat Mountain, northwest of Atlanta. That station was later W49DE and WXID-LP, an affiliate of JCTV.
