It was a considerable distance from the villages of East Woodhay and West Woodhay. The site now lies under the A34 Newbury by-pass.

Stargroves (also known as Stargrove House) is a manor house and associated estate at East Woodhay in the English county of Hampshire. The house belonged to Mick Jagger during the 1970s and was a recording venue for the Rolling Stones and various other rock bands, as well as a filming location for Doctor Who.

Avery's Pightle is a 1.3-hectare (3.2-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Enborne in Berkshire. It is managed by the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.This unimproved meadow is species rich and it has surviving ridge and furrow, suggesting a long history of traditional management without modern herbicides or fertilisers. Twenty-four species of grass and a hundred and thirteen herbs have been recorded. There is a wet ditch which has water whorl grass.There is access to the site from Church Lane.

Wash Water is a hamlet on the border of Berkshire, and Hampshire. It is divided between the civil parishes of Enborne (where according to Grid Refs the majority of the population at the 2011 Census was included), Newbury, Highclere and East Woodhay. The settlement lies adjacent to the A343 and A34 highways (Newbury Bypass), approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) south-south-west of Newbury. Some locals claim it is named after the spot on the River Enborne where women washed the troops' clothes during or after the First Battle of Newbury of the English Civil War, others say it is because wool was washed in the local rivers before fulling in the two nearby mills. Village facilities include a public house called the Woodpecker Inn, formerly the Derby Arms.
