Central Sydney Intensive English High School (CSIEHS), formerly known as Cleveland Street Intensive English High School, is an ESL high school located in the Inner Sydney suburb of Alexandria, New South Wales, Australia and operated by the New South Wales Department of Education. The school provides intensive English language, settlement, orientation and welfare programs to secondary aged, newly arrived permanent, temporary resident and international students. Settlement support and partnership programs are provided for the school's culturally and linguistically diverse parent community. The school's student and parent community come from more than 30 language backgrounds other than English. Bilingual staff support student learning and parent programs. The school's motto "Harmony and Progress" reflects the proactively inclusive education and welfare programs designed to enhance student resilience and achievement.In 2018, the school moved into temporary buildings on the Park Street campus of the Alexandria Community School, to vacate the historic Cleveland Street Model School site on the corner of Cleveland and Chalmers Streets, Redfern for a new, 14 storey inner city high school on that site, to be called Inner Sydney High School. The CSIEHS school relocated to its new, permanent campus on Mitchell Road early in 2019.

The Illawarra Junction is a major railway junction located near the Eveleigh Railway Workshops, in the inner western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. This complex junction joins a number of different lines and yards. There are two pairs of tracks (named Illawarra Main and Illawarra Local) from the Illawarra railway line from the south and three pairs of tracks (named Local, Suburban and Main) from the Main Suburban railway line from the west.

Erskineville Oval is a sporting venue in Erskineville, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Originally developed and opened in 1885 as Macdonaldtown Park, it was later renamed in 1892 to its current form with the municipality name change of the local government body. At approximately a capacity of 5000 spectators, previously 2000 Erskineville Oval was formerly an AFL venue as of 1903 when the NSW Australian Football League was founded. From 1913, the ground become a rugby venue as well, in which it has since hosted professional teams such as Newtown and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Carriageworks is a multi-arts urban cultural precinct located at the former Eveleigh Railway Workshops in Redfern, Sydney, Australia. Carriageworks showcases contemporary art and performing arts, as well as being used for filming, festivals, fairs and commercial exhibitions. The largest such venue in Australia, it is a cultural facility of the NSW Government, and receives support from Create NSW and the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts. The centre has commissioned new work by Australian and international artists, and has been home to eight theatre, dance and film companies, including Performance Space, Sydney Chamber Opera and Moogahlin Performing Arts, and a weekly farmers' market has operated there for many years. On 4 May 2020 Carriageworks Ltd, the company that operates the venue, declared it would be entering voluntary administration and closing, citing an “irreparable loss of income” due to government bans on events during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the consequent negative impact on the arts sector. Carriageworks successfully emerged from voluntary administration and reopened its doors to the public in August 2020.

The Eveleigh Carriage Workshops were built by the New South Wales Government Railways in 1888 as a depot for its passenger carriage fleet. The workshops are located west of what is now Redfern station on the northern side of the Main Suburban railway line opposite the heritage-listed Eveleigh Railway Workshops.The repair and heavy maintenance of both Sydney suburban and long distance carriages were undertaken on site between 1888 until its closure in 1989. In 1986 the workshop was upgraded to refurbish single deck suburban carriages. Following this program ceasing the works closed in September 1989 after which it was used to store redundant carriages and to remove asbestos from locomotives and carriages.The western end of the site has been redeveloped as the Carriageworks theatre while the eastern end houses some of RailCorp's heritage fleet.

Macdonaldtown is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney and informally part of the region of the Inner West. The locality is around Macdonaldtown railway station, on the Inner West line of the Sydney Trains network.

Golden Grove is an urban place in Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is 4 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, adjacent to the suburbs of Newtown, Darlington and Eveleigh. Golden Grove is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney. The locality is around Golden Grove street, surrounding Forbes street, Wilson street, Abercrombie street, along with the Golden Grove Housing Estate, Forbes Street Reserve, Golden Grove Ministry Centre. The former suburb of the postcode 2006 was named after the First Fleet store ship that left Portsmouth on 13 May 1787, and arrived at Port Jackson, Sydney Australia, on 26 January 1788.

The Macdonaldtown Carriage Sheds was a facility for the stabling of passenger carriages used on country railway services in New South Wales, Australia. Built by the New South Wales Government Railways in the inner Sydney suburb of Macdonaldtown, it was located in a triangle between the Main Suburban and Illawarra lines. By the early 1980s, it was mainly being used to stable withdrawn rolling stock with the New South Wales Rail Transport Museum and Dorrigo Steam Railway & Museum both having stock stored here. It closed in April 1985.In 2007, six sidings were relaid on the site as part of the CityRail Clearways Project for use as a stabling facility by suburban trains.

Macdonaldtown railway station is located on the Main Suburban line, serving the Sydney suburb of Eveleigh. It is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington line services.

STUCCO Housing Co-operative is a student housing co-operative in Sydney, Australia. Officially opened on the 21st of February, 1992, it was the first of its kind in Australia, though there is now also the Canberra Student Housing Cooperative. Its name is a contraction of "Student Co-operative" rather than a reference to the rendered coatings on the external brickwork in the STUCCO building.

South Eveleigh, previously known as Australian Technology Park is a retail, business centre and technology park 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south of the Sydney central business district and 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) north of Sydney Airport. South Eveleigh borders Alexandria and Eveleigh. Eveleigh Railway Workshops emerged on the site in the 19th century and it was transformed into Australian Technology Park in 1995. South Eveleigh primarily houses start-up hi-tech companies, especially biotech firms, and spin-offs from university research. The Park also houses venture capital companies, banks and legal firms. It was created in 1995, by the Government of New South Wales, the University of Sydney, University of Technology, Sydney and University of New South Wales, and was originally operated by the Australian Technology Park Sydney Ltd up until 2000, then by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority before operation was passed to the Redfern-Waterloo Authority. The park has encouraged collaborative ventures that maximise the capacity of companies to take products of market driven research through to the commercialisation phase. The intent of the park is for university scientists and engineers to join with industrial scientists and engineers to apply university research ideas in new products and production processes. As such, researchers have been located alongside companies with the capital and expertise to commercialise and export them with the objective of improving Australia's global competitiveness. The park also includes conference, dining and exhibition facilities. Australian Technology Park established strategic alliances with the Oxford Science Park, Techneon (Israel Institute of Technology), UCSC Philadelphia and Kyoto Research Park. Within three and a half years of operation, the Australian Technology Park achieved international status. The Park was also chosen as a benchmark model for Queensland, Victoria and New Zealand, and assisted incubator programs in the region. In 2015 the site was acquired by Mirvac, to become home to Commonwealth Bank.
