Fintry Castle, Stirling

Fintry Kirk is in the village of Fintry in Stirlingshire, Scotland. Fintry is a Church of Scotland Parish in the Presbytery of Stirling. The kirk is located to the East of the village. The parish minister for Fintry is shared with Balfron with the Manse located there.

The Fintry Hills form the western end of a range of hills which stretch west from the city of Stirling, Scotland. They culminate in the 511-metre (1,677 ft) peak of Stronend, which overlooks Strathendrick and the village of Fintry. The northern, western and southern sides of the hills are defined by a steep and craggy escarpment, whilst the eastern sides run more gently down into the valley of the Backside Burn and Endrick Water. The Boquhan Burn, which runs initially northeastwards, drops over the northern scarp at the Spout of Ballochleam. Loch Walton lies at the foot of the hills’ southern slopes.

Loup of Fintry is a notable waterfall on the River Endrick around 2 miles to the east of Fintry in Scotland and 17 miles from Stirling, 10 miles from Denny. The total height of the waterfalls is 28.6 m (94 ft) Lowp or "Loup" means leap in Scots.

Stronend (511 m) is the highest peak of the Fintry Hills in Stirlingshire, Scotland. Standing above the village of Fintry, it provides excellent views of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs to the north.

Culcreuch Castle is a Scottish castle close to the village of Fintry, near Loch Lomond. It had been the home of the Barons of Culcreuch since 1699. In the 1980s the castle was converted into a hotel, which it was run as until early 2020 when it was closed to the public by the American owners thus ending over 700 years of history. It had been until January 2020 one of the most continually inhabited Castles in Central Scotland.

Fintry is a small riverside village in Stirlingshire, central Scotland. It is located 16 miles (26 km) south-west of Stirling and around 19 miles (31 km) north of Glasgow.

Meikle Bin is a peak in the Campsie Fells in Central Scotland. It is the second-highest of the group at 570 metres (1,870 ft), and with its prominence of 270 m (890 ft) it is classified as a Marilyn. The hill is a prominent local landmark for the people of the towns surrounding the Campsie Fells. It was the site of a fatal accident in January 1950, when a Fairey Firefly of the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm crashed just below the summit in low cloud while en route to HMS Sanderling Naval Air Station. Both crewmen were killed on impact. Wreckage can be seen on the north and west slopes. On a clear day, Scotland's iconic east coast and west coast rock islands, Bass Rock and Ailsa Craig respectively, can be seen from the summit, a range of almost 120 miles.

Dundaff Castle, also known as Sir John de Graham Castle or Graham's Castle, is a ruined 12th century square motte and bailey castle in the Stirling council area, Scotland. The castle was the caput baronium of the Barony of Dundaff. Sir David de Graham was known to be in possession of the barony of Dundaff in 1237. Identified as the peel tower of Sir John de Graham, who died at the Battle of Falkirk in 1298.

Campsie is a civil parish in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The parish was formerly part of Stirlingshire.

Located in East Dunbartonshire, the Aldessan Burn (Scottish Gaelic: Allt Easain, meaning "burn of the falls"; also known as the Kirk Burn) is formed as headwaters which descend from the Campsie Fells. The Burn flows through Campsie Glen to Clachan of Campsie and upon merging with the Finglen Burn a half-mile (1 km) to the southeast, forms the Glazert Water.

Kippen is a village in west Stirlingshire, Scotland. It lies between the Gargunnock Hills and the Fintry Hills and overlooks the Carse of Forth to the north. The village is 9 miles (14 kilometres) west of Stirling and 20 mi (32 km) north of Glasgow. It is 4+1⁄2 mi (7 km) south-east of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, Scotland's first National Park. The village lies on the line of an eighteenth-century military road between Stirling and Balloch, although a bypass around the village was built in 1971 meaning Kippen no longer lies on the A811. According to the 2001 census, the population of Kippen was 1,140.
