Swainby is a village in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the A172 road, 8 miles (13 km) north-east from Northallerton and 5 miles (8 km) south-east from the small market town of Stokesley.

The Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Grace is a place of Marian devotion and pilgrimage sited in the North Yorkshire village of Osmotherley. Christians have visited this small church, known as the “Lady Chapel”, for centuries and continue the tradition through an annual pilgrimage every summer on the Sunday nearest the Feast of the Assumption, 15 August.

Osmotherley is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton hills in North Yorkshire, six miles north-east of Northallerton. The village is at the western edge of the North York Moors National Park. Osmotherley Friends Meeting House is a Friends Meeting House of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), situated in the village of Osmotherley in North Yorkshire, England. It is a Grade II listed building. The meeting house is a traditional stone building, built around 1723 (1723), it is owned and maintained by Teesdale & Cleveland Area Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). It is still used regularly as a place of worship. Meeting for worship is held on the third Sunday of each month at 1500 hours GMT. The Meeting House and a separate dormitory block are available for letting to organised groups and families, both Quaker and non-Quaker, and can sleep up to 25.

Whorlton Castle is a ruined medieval castle situated near the abandoned village of Whorlton (at grid reference NZ4802) in North Yorkshire, England. It was established in the early 12th century as a Norman motte-and-bailey associated with the nearby settlement. The castle is an unusual example of a motte-and-bailey that remained in use throughout the Middle Ages and into the early modern period. Built to overlook an important road on the western edge of the North York Moors, the castle fell into ruin as early as the mid-14th century. The site nonetheless continued to be inhabited until at least the early 17th century. Little now remains of the castle itself, other than the remnants of some cellars or undercrofts. The ruined shell of a 14th-century gatehouse still survives, albeit in fairly poor condition. It is a listed building and is privately owned but can be visited by the public.

Whorlton is a hamlet and civil parish in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It is very near Swainby and the A19, and 6 miles south west of Stokesley. Features include the remains of Whorlton Castle and the Church of the Holy Rood. Whorlton Castle was built by Robert de Meynell as a typical 12th century motte and bailey Norman castle. A gatehouse was added in the 14th century. The only remains visible today are the grade I listed gatehouse and traces of the grade II* listed undercrofts (or cellars) of the main building. Due to vandalism access to the site is restricted.

Mount Grace Priory is a monastery in the parish of East Harlsey, North Yorkshire, England. Set in woodlands within the North York Moors National Park, it is represented today by the best preserved and most accessible ruins among the nine houses of the Carthusian Order, which existed in England in the Middle Ages and were known as charterhouses.

Ingleby Arncliffe is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is situated between the A172 and A19 roads, 6.5 miles (10.5 km) north-east from Northallerton and 7 miles (11.3 km) south-east from the small market town of Stokesley, and is on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The village is conjoined to its smaller neighbour, Ingleby Cross. Ingleby Arncliffe lies in the historic county of the North Riding of Yorkshire.

Thimbleby is a small village and civil parish in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England, it is in the North Yorks Moors and close to the village of Osmotherley and the Cleveland Way, 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Northallerton. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 258.

Potto railway station was a railway station built just north of the village of Potto in North Yorkshire, England. The station was on the North Yorkshire and Cleveland's railway line between Picton and Stokesley. The line was extended progressively until it met the Whitby and Pickering Line at Grosmont. Potto station was closed in 1954 to passengers and four years later to goods.
