Washwood Heath is a ward in Birmingham, within the formal district of Hodge Hill, roughly two miles north-east of Birmingham city centre, England. Washwood Heath covers the areas of Birmingham that lie between Nechells, Bordesley Green, Stechford and Hodge Hill.

The Brookhill Tavern is a Grade II listed public house at 484 Alum Rock Road, Alum Rock, Birmingham, England B8 3HX. It was built in 1927-1928 for the Smethwick-based Mitchells & Butlers Brewery. The architect was George Bernard Cox of Harrison and Cox.It was Grade II listed in 2015 by Historic England.

There is also a place called Pelham in Birmingham, AlabamaPelham is a small "sub-area" of Alum Rock, Birmingham, England, that surrounds the former Pelham Arms pub (demolished in 2007), and is roughly at the point where Saltley and Ward End meet. There are a few local shops, and there used to be the Capitol Cinema, until it was closed down in 1996. "Pelham" does not appear on any maps, nor is it officially recognised; the name is used locally to describe the area surrounding the former site of the Pelham Arms by attributing the name of the pub to the area. Other examples of this in Birmingham are "The Fox And Goose" in Ward End, “The Broadway” in Bordesley Green and "The Scott Arms" in Great Barr.

Rockwood Academy (formerly Park View School) is a mixed secondary school located in Alum Rock, Birmingham. A medium-sized academy that serves the inner city area of Birmingham, it is a popular choice with parents, with many coming from the immediate area with almost all students in walking distance to the academy. The academy is rated as 'Good' by Ofsted in 2016 and the academy was highly commended for its rapid success with high praise coming from the National Schools Commissioner Sir David Carter and Chief Inspector of Schools Sir Michael Wilshaw. The academy is sponsored by CORE Education Trust. In 2016, the School was in the top 20% nationally for progress made by its pupils between their key stage 2 SATs results at primary school and their key stage 4 GCSE results as measured by Specialist Schools Trust (SSAT). In 2017, the School was in the top 2% highest performing schools in the country.

Alum Rock is an inner-city suburb of Birmingham, England, located roughly 2 miles east of Birmingham city centre. The area is officially a division of Saltley. Alum Rock Road is located here and has many Pakistani clothing shops and restaurants.

Washwood Heath Yard was a marshalling yard, and later sidings, to the east of Birmingham, in the West Midlands, England. The site was first host to sidings in the late 1870s, which were upgraded to a hump marshalling yard by 1900 which survived until the early 1980s. Thereafter, the site was flat shunted, but moreover used as a layover yard, rather than used for the transfer or interchange of wagons between trains. It was run-down and closed in late 2008 due to the loss of most of the automotive traffic that it was latterly used for. The lines were removed by 2020.

The River Rea (pronounced "ray") is a small river which passes through Birmingham, England. It is the river on which Birmingham was founded by the Beorma tribe in the 7th century.

Little Bromwich is a small area in central-east Birmingham, England. It borders with Bordesley Green and Small Heath and there is a road named after it. It is also quite close to Yardley, and often confused with part of Bordesley Green. The Little Bromwich Centre is on Hob Moore Road. The area covered is from Hob Moore Road to Little Bromwich Road. The area is part of the Birmingham Hodge Hill parliamentary constituency; it is in the Bordesley Green and Heartlands council wards. Following the 2021 United Kingdom census, it was reported in 2022 that Little Bromwich had the smallest share of adults identifying as gay, lesbian or bisexual in England and Wales.
