Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center

Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) is a public psychiatric hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, United States, operated by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission. Portions of the facility are included in the Wisconsin Memorial Hospital Historic District, District #88002183. The Mendota State Hospital Mound Group (NRHP #74000076) and Farwell's Point Mound Group (NRHP #74000069) are also located at the facility.

WTLX (100.5 MHz "100.5 FM ESPN") is a commercial FM radio station, licensed to Monona, Wisconsin and serving the Madison metropolitan area. The station is owned by Good Karma Broadcasting, LLC, and runs a sports radio format as a network affiliate of ESPN Radio, sharing most programming with Milwaukee based WKTI and WAUK identifying jointly on air as ESPN Wisconsin. Studios and offices were on North Pinckney Street in Madison for 5.5 years from mid-2016 to the end of 2021. Jason Wilde stated on December 21, 2021 during an episode of Wilde & Tausch that the show that day was the last show from that studio as the radio station was going to be moving to a new location. The transmitter is off Tower Road, using an antenna on the water tower at the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison.

The Robert M. Lamp Cottage, also known as Rocky Roost, was a summer cottage on a small island on Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. The cottage was designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright for boyhood friend, Robert M. Lamp (1866–1916), for whom Wright also designed the Lamp House in Madison. There was a cottage on the island by 1893, and there is some disagreement on whether Wright had something to do with its construction. By the turn of the century, several cottages were constructed on the small island and it is known that in 1901–02, Wright tied the cottages together into one structure, which is the known cottage for Robert Lamp that appears in postcards and photographs. The cottage was a two-story tall building with horizontal siding and a wrap-around porch on the second floor. In 1902–03, a windmill was added on the island to bring water to the cottage. Evidence points toward the cottage burning in late 1934 to early 1935. According to Wright scholar, John O. Holzheuter, in "Frank Lloyd Wright designs for Robert Lamp": A search of newspapers and fire department records for Waunakee (the department that technically should have taken the call) proved fruitless for establishing a date ... Because no taxes were paid on the building for 1935, it can be deduced that the fire occurred after May 15, 1934 and before May 15, 1935. No physical evidence of the cottage or windmill remains.

The Halvorson Mound Group is a group of Native American mounds in Yahara Heights County Park in Madison, Wisconsin. The group includes panther- and bear-shaped effigy mounds as well as an oval-shaped mound; a second panther mound and a linear mound were also once part of the site but were destroyed by farming. The remaining panther mound is a relatively large example at 228 feet (69 m) long. The mounds were built by Late Woodland people roughly between 800 and 1100 A.D. Charles E. Brown and Rev. F. A. Gilmore conducted the first survey of the mounds in 1911.The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 25, 1993.

Lake View Sanatorium is a former tuberculosis sanatorium at 1204 Northport Drive in Madison, Wisconsin. Before the introduction of antibiotics, sanatoria were used to isolate tuberculosis patients from the general public and provide them with a supportive environment in which to recover. The state of Wisconsin had a state sanatorium supplemented by a series of county and private sanatoria; as Dane County had a large private sanatorium, it lagged behind other counties in opening a public one, but the financial benefits of operating its own sanatorium convinced the county to build Lake View Sanatorium in 1929–30. The sanatorium was designed by local architects Law, Law, & Potter with the assistance of E.A. Stubenrauch, a Milwaukee architect with experience designing sanatoriums; while the building is mainly functional, it features some Art Deco elements. The building's facilities included 125 beds for patients, an operating room, facilities for outpatient care, and a large porch; as fresh air was considered the best treatment for tuberculosis at the time, patients generally spent their days and even many nights on the porch. As antibiotics made sanatoria increasingly obsolete from the 1940s onward, use of the facility declined until it closed in the 1960s; the building is now used by the Dane County Department of Human Services.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 1993.

Madison Country Day School is a nonsectarian, private day school in Dane County, Wisconsin for grades PreK through 12. The school has an enrollment of about 450 students. It is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School that offers the IB Diploma Program to high school students. Madison Country Day School is informally known as "MCDS".

Lake Mendota is a freshwater eutrophic lake that is the northernmost and largest of the four lakes in Madison, Wisconsin. The lake borders Madison on the north, east, and south, Middleton on the west, Shorewood Hills on the southwest, Maple Bluff on the northeast, and Westport on the northwest. Lake Mendota acquired its present name in 1849 following a proposal by a surveyor named Frank Hudson, who claimed to be familiar with local Native American languages; Lyman C. Draper, the first corresponding secretary of the Wisconsin Historical Society, proposed that 'Mendota' could have been a Chippewa word meaning 'large' or 'great.'

Robert M. La Follette House is a historic house located at 733 Lakewood Boulevard in Maple Bluff, Wisconsin, United States. The house was the home of Robert M. La Follette, Wisconsin governor and U.S. Congressman and presidential candidate, from 1905 until his death in 1925. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1964.

Governor Nelson State Park is a 422-acre (171 ha) Wisconsin state park located outside of Waunakee, Wisconsin in the town of Westport on the north shore of Lake Mendota. It is named for former Wisconsin Governor Gaylord Nelson. On most days the Wisconsin State Capitol building can be seen in nearby Madison. Common activities include boating, fishing, picnicking and swimming. There is also a boat launch and a swimming area for pets. Away from the lake one can find restored prairie and savanna, effigy mounds, hiking trails and ski trails. Governor Nelson State Park is one of the few Wisconsin state parks that does not allow overnight camping.

Rhythm and Booms was an annual summer fireworks show in Madison, Wisconsin.

Warner Park is a community park on the northeast side of Madison, Wisconsin near Lake Mendota. Warner Park is also the home to the Madison Mallards baseball team, a member of the Northwoods League. Its stadium, nicknamed the "Duck Pond", was built in 1982 and has a capacity of 6,750. It also hosts the Madison East High School and Madison La Follette High School baseball teams. The adjacent football field was formerly the home of the Madison Mustangs, a semi-professional football team that played in the Central States Football League in the 1960s and 1970s. Warner Park contains a multi-purpose facility for community activities. It has a gymnasium, a fully equipped exercise room, a game room and dry and wet craft rooms. Meeting rooms and community rooms are available for rent. The park contains a 9-foot-tall metal replica of the Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World), built in 1950.

The Executive Residence, known better as the Governor's Mansion, is located at 99 Cambridge Road in the Village of Maple Bluff, Wisconsin (a suburb of the state capital of Madison), on the eastern shore of Lake Mendota. It is currently the official residence of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. The Wisconsin Governor's Mansion is one of four governor's residences in the United States not within a state capital's municipal limits, though all of them are located within the county containing the state capital. The others are Drumthwacket, located in Princeton, New Jersey, instead of Trenton; the Ohio Governor's Mansion, located in suburban Bexley outside Columbus; and the Tennessee Governor's Mansion, located in Oak Hill, just outside Nashville).
