Salmond's Muir is a hamlet in the council area of Angus, Scotland. It is situated 2 miles (3 km) north-east of Carnoustie and 4 miles (6 km) west of Arbroath on the A92 road. The junction of the A92 at Salmond's Muir forms the main route to the villages of Panbride, East Haven, Balmirmer and Scryne. Salmond's Muir is recorded in documents of the Commissioners of the Guardians of Scotland from 1286, in which a dispute over ownership of the land was settled with the land being determined as property of Christiana of Maule.

The current name is usually presumed to be a contraction of Aberelliot: 467  or Aber-Eliot : 147 - both meaning the mouth of the Elliot. It is situated west of Arbroath. The main village settlement is on the Elliot Water, 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) from Arbroath. There is a Church of Scotland church and a primary school. The school lies 1 mile (1.6 km) further west, in the approximate geographic centre of the parish.

Inverpeffer (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Pheofhair, lit. 'Mouth of the shining/beautiful stream') was a hamlet that once existed in Angus, Scotland until around 1941, when it was demolished during the building of East Haven airfield.David of Inverpeffer was one of the signatories to the Performance of Fealty to Edward I, signed in August 1296 at Berwick upon Tweed.It was on a return journey from Inverpeffer to Barry in 1797 that loomwright Thomas Lowson fell asleep in grassland belonging to Major William Phillips. Lowson, enamoured of the area, approached Phillips, securing a feu of land, and built the first house in the village that was to become Carnoustie.Today, a single building from the former hamlet remains.

Royal Naval Air Station East Haven (RNAS East Haven, also known as HMS Peewit) is a former Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm station, situated 3 miles (5 km) south west of Arbroath, Angus, Scotland. It was a purpose built airfield for a Deck Landing Training school, and was operational between 1943 and 1946. Muirdrum () is a small village in the council area of Angus, Scotland. It is situated at the junction of the old A92 road from Dundee to Arbroath, the A930 to Carnoustie and B9128 to Forfar. Its closest town is Carnoustie, which lies approximately 2 km (1 mi) to the south.The village is mentioned in the list of lands purchased by George Maule, 2nd Earl of Panmure in 1667. These lands were forfeited by his heir, James Maule, 4th Earl of Panmure following the Jacobite rising of 1715. The opening of the Dundee to Arbroath turnpike road (later designated the A92 road) at the beginning of the 19th century lead to some expansion along this road.
