Salmond's Muir is a hamlet in the council area of Angus, Scotland. It is situated 2 miles (3 km) north-east of Carnoustie and 4 miles (6 km) west of Arbroath on the A92 road. The junction of the A92 at Salmond's Muir forms the main route to the villages of Panbride, East Haven, Balmirmer and Scryne. Salmond's Muir is recorded in documents of the Commissioners of the Guardians of Scotland from 1286, in which a dispute over ownership of the land was settled with the land being determined as property of Christiana of Maule.

Muirdrum () is a small village in the council area of Angus, Scotland. It is situated at the junction of the old A92 road from Dundee to Arbroath, the A930 to Carnoustie and B9128 to Forfar. Its closest town is Carnoustie, which lies approximately 2 km (1 mi) to the south.The village is mentioned in the list of lands purchased by George Maule, 2nd Earl of Panmure in 1667. These lands were forfeited by his heir, James Maule, 4th Earl of Panmure following the Jacobite rising of 1715. The opening of the Dundee to Arbroath turnpike road (later designated the A92 road) at the beginning of the 19th century lead to some expansion along this road.

East Haven is a fishing village in the council area of Angus, Scotland. It is situated 1.5 miles (2 km) east of Carnoustie and 5 miles (8 km) south west of Arbroath. The closest city, Dundee, is 13 miles (21 km) to the west.East Haven has a long history and is first recorded (as 'Stinchendehavene') in deeds granted in 1214 by Philip de Valognes, Lord of Panmure, to the Cistercian monks of Coupar Angus, which gave them rights to build on the land there, to use the haven and to impose a toll on the fishings. East Haven can be seen on Pont's map of Lower Angus, c1583-96., spelled 'East Heaven'. It has been known under various other names including 'Ross Haven', 'Mauleshaven' and 'Stinking Haven'. Formerly, a small fishing fleet operated from the natural harbour, catching cod and haddock which were sold in markets in Dundee and Forfar, as well as Lobsters for export to London and crabs for local use.The beach at East Haven is popular with families from the local area during summer months, and the Royal Family were regular visitors while holidaying at Glamis in the 1930s.Several of the houses are situated only a few feet from the beach, a rocky and often windy sweep of sand typical of Scotland's rugged coastline, and so are popular both as permanent residences or summer houses. In 1838, construction of the Dundee and Arbroath Railway was completed, its route cutting through the village. East Haven was formerly served by a small railway station which closed in 1967. Twenty houses lie on land on the seaward side of the railway. These were formerly served by a private level crossing which was closed in 2003, leaving them inaccessible by vehicles larger than a car.The village is on land owned by a limited company originally set up by a group of individuals who own the line of bigger houses to the west. The path that runs to the east is on top of sea defences that are formed from the stone recovered when the nearby Panmure Estate Mansion was demolished. The former RNAS East Haven (HMS Peewit) is nearby. The village's bus service, the 73A between Arbroath and Dundee's Ninewells Hospital, run by Stagecoach, was withdrawn in June 2020.

Royal Naval Air Station East Haven (RNAS East Haven, also known as HMS Peewit) is a former Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm station, situated 3 miles (5 km) south west of Arbroath, Angus, Scotland. It was a purpose built airfield for a Deck Landing Training school, and was operational between 1943 and 1946. Inverpeffer (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Pheofhair, lit. 'Mouth of the shining/beautiful stream') was a hamlet that once existed in Angus, Scotland until around 1941, when it was demolished during the building of East Haven airfield.David of Inverpeffer was one of the signatories to the Performance of Fealty to Edward I, signed in August 1296 at Berwick upon Tweed.It was on a return journey from Inverpeffer to Barry in 1797 that loomwright Thomas Lowson fell asleep in grassland belonging to Major William Phillips. Lowson, enamoured of the area, approached Phillips, securing a feu of land, and built the first house in the village that was to become Carnoustie.Today, a single building from the former hamlet remains.

Carlogie is a hamlet in Angus, Scotland. It lies approximately half a mile north of Carnoustie on the A930 road. Carlogie House was erected in 1854 as the residence of the factor of Panmure Estate. It was converted into a hotel in the 1960s by James Robson. Planning consent was granted to convert it into residential housing in 2007.Archaeological excavations at Carlogie prior to the A92 road improvements (1998–2000) revealed pottery fragments that were tentatively dated to the Late Neolithic period.

Carnoustie railway station is a railway station which serves the town of Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland. It is sited 10 miles 33 chains (16.8 km) east of the former Dundee East station, on the Dundee to Aberdeen line, between Golf Street and Arbroath. There is a crossover at the south end of the station, which can be used to facilitate trains turning back if the line north to Arbroath is blocked. ScotRail manage the station and provide almost all services. Carnoustie station was refurbished by Galliford Try Rail prior to the 2007 Open Golf Championship which was held at the adjacent golf course.

Arbirlot (Gaelic: Obar Eilid) is a village in a rural parish of the same name in Angus, Scotland. The current name is usually presumed to be a contraction of Aberelliot: 467  or Aber-Eliot : 147 - both meaning the mouth of the Elliot. It is situated west of Arbroath. The main village settlement is on the Elliot Water, 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) from Arbroath. There is a Church of Scotland church and a primary school. The school lies 1 mile (1.6 km) further west, in the approximate geographic centre of the parish.
