It hosts 1500 houses and two chaupals and Park namely Prithvi Raj Chauhan Park. Much of the agricultural land in the village was acquired by the Delhi Development Authority post the partition of India to house migrants from Pakistan. These areas include Outram Line, Mukherjee Nagar, West Mukherjee Nagar, Bhai Parmanand Colony, Indira Vihar, Gandhi Vihar and Nehru Vihar. A large structure called the Pathar Wali Kothi, originally constructed by a Muslim family before the partition of India, stands in this small settlement. Delhi University is situated merely 1.5 km from Dhaka village. Its proximity to the university as well as to Mukherjee Nagar (a hub for IAS coaching classes) makes it a preferable location to rent student accommodation. Consequently, many single rooms are available to students in the area. Other notable places near the village include Harijan Sevak Sangh (Gandhi Ashram), Nirankari Sarovar, Batra Hall and Naini Lake in Model Town. The International Hostel for Girls opposite Indira Vihar is also located near Dhaka. The place is 10 mins walk from Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Nagar Metro Station and is primarily inhabited by people from the northern part of India mostly Chauhans (Rajputs).The area houses accommodation for students studying in DU and for IAS coaching classes.

It is located near University of Delhi and has an area under 2 square kilometers. Its population is about 10,000. Timarpur is the first government colony situated by the Government of India and is predominantly a government residential area. The area includes eight schools, including six senior secondary schools, one primary school, and one special school for intellectually disabled children. The health services in Timarpur include the INMAS health center, which is the biggest thyroid center in India. A government-owned CGHS dispensary is also present in the area. Timarpur is well connected to the Delhi Tilak Basumatary service. The area also includes a DRDO complex consisting of both residential and official areas. Haqiqat Nagar (Hindi: हक़ीक़त नगर, Urdu: حقیقت نگار, Punjabi: ਹਾਕ਼ੀਕ਼ਾਤ ਨਗਰ), also spelled as Hakikat Nagar, is a residential colony in Delhi located near Kingsway Camp in the North West district. The colony was named famous Hindu leader who attained veergati in Lahore, Haqiqat Rai, and is one of the sites where refugees from the Sind and Punjab provinces settled. This colony is part of the Model Town tehsil. The colony is at the crossroads of Mall Road and Banda Bahadur. The GTB Nagar metro station of Delhi Metro provides convenient transportation to other parts of Delhi. The colony has around 384 houses, two temples, one gurudwara (Sikh temple), one community center and one co-ed primary school. Haqiqat Nagar is very close to the University of Delhi North Campus, and the commercial education centers like Mukherjee Nagar. This area has got a good market popularly termed as Camp Market; making the area very vibrant and dynamic.

The Vishwa Vidyalaya metro station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro, which services the University of Delhi North campus area and the Delhi University Stadium. It is also the alternate northern terminus for the yellow line along with Kashmere Gate. It is connected to the at-grade Khyber Pass Depot.
