Timarpur Assembly constituency is one of the seventy Delhi assembly constituencies of Delhi in northern India. Timarpur assembly constituency is a part of North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR) is an Indian defence laboratory of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO). Located in Delhi, its main function is research in the area of psychology for armed forces personnel. DIPR is organised under the DRDO's Directorate of Life Sciences (DLS). The Centre for Fire, Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) is an Indian defence laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Located in Timarpur, Delhi, its main function is the development of technologies and products in the area of explosive, fire and environmental safety. Majnu-ka-tilla (MT) is a colony in Delhi, India that was established around 1950. Majnu-ka-tilla is officially called New Aruna Nagar Colony, Chungtown, and Samyeling. It is part of North Delhi district and is located at the bank of the Yamuna River (NH-1) near ISBT Kashmiri Gate.

The Vishwa Vidyalaya metro station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro, which services the University of Delhi North campus area and the Delhi University Stadium. It is also the alternate northern terminus for the yellow line along with Kashmere Gate. It is connected to the at-grade Khyber Pass Depot.

Mukherjee Nagar, Popularly Known for SSC CGL Preparation, is a place in northern Delhi. It is located near GTB Nagar metro station of Yellow line. It is also known as Kingsway Camp. The place is a prominent commercial location for hundreds of private institutions that provide coaching for UPSC and SSC entrance exams. It is considered one of the two hubs of coaching institutes in Delhi, the other being in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Unlike other big players in the industry of educational coaching in India, which prepare students for admissions in institutes for higher education, most institutes in Mukherjee Nagar are government job oriented.

The University of Delhi-School of Open Learning (DU-SOL) is a constituent school of the University of Delhi. It was established in 1962, and offers programmes in humanities, sciences and commerce. Courses offered are under correspondence courses and continuing education policies of the university and respective government agencies.[1]

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. It was established in 1951, and offers courses for science, commerce and arts in India. In 2018, the highest admission cut-off was 99.66 per cent for B.Sc. (Hons) in Electronics in SGTB Khalsa College. In the humanities stream, Khalsa College had set the highest cut-off at 99 per cent for BA (Hons) in Political Science.The college has 59 classrooms, 19 labs, 6 research labs, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, gymnasium, cafeteria, bank, and medical facilities in proximity, besides other utility services such as post-office and market. The college is well connected by road and Delhi Metro link, and majority students are day-scholars. A hostel for girls can accommodate 147 students, and a hostel for boys was inaugurated in February 2021. The college have air-conditioned classrooms with projection facilities and Internet, campus-wide wired as well as a wireless network having Internet connectivity, with 24x7 Internet in campus and an overall computer-student ratio of 1 : 2.95.

DUCR 90.4 MHz established in 2007, is a Community Radio Station at Delhi University Stadium, University of Delhi. It was inaugurated by Sh. Kapil Sibal, Honorable Minister of Science & Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences, Government of India on 2 October 2007. Prof. Deepak Pental, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi congratulated to the students and the community on this auspicious occasion. Prof Pental emphasized that the larger participation of faculty and students will strengthen the DUCR and make it popular among the community residing in and round Delhi University. Vijaylakshmi Sinha, former Deputy Director-General of All India Radio is supervising the project.In 2008, the University started using the station for disseminating information about the admission process, through live phone-in programs with students and parents.

Flagstaff Tower is a one-room, castellated tower, built around 1828 as a signal tower, located in Kamla Nehru Ridge near the present-day North Campus of Delhi University in Delhi, India. It was here that many Europeans and their families sheltered on 11 May 1857, during the Siege of Delhi by the rebels at the beginning of the Indian rebellion of that year, waiting for help to arrive from nearby Meerut. Built by the British Indian Army, the building was part of the British cantonment and was used as a signal tower. Before forestation started in 1910, the area where the tower was built was the highest point on the ridge and was mostly barren, covered with low-lying shrub. Today it is a memorial and "protected monument" under Archaeological Survey of India.The monument is still preserved and in very good condition. This cemetery, where the few British who fell during the uprising are buried with their leader, Brigadier-Jhon Nicholas, Is now that well preserved that a Britain's High Commissioner, Mr. Michael Arthur, who once helped in the restoration and repairing of the cemetery thought that it surpassed many of the cemeteries in Britain, with its beautiful glimpse of the history of the year 1857.

The Vidhan Sabha metro station is located on the Yellow Line of the Delhi Metro. It services the area around Delhi Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha), and Majnu Ka Tilla, which is 1.5 km away.
