Appeltern

Altforst is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of West Maas en Waal, and lies about 10 km north of Oss. It was first mentioned in 1134 as Altfurse, and means "old settlement near furze (ulex europaeus)". The village started as a deforestation settlement. It was a low-lying area, and therefore, three artificial mounds have been erected in the village. The Dutch Reformed Church dates from 1824 and was decommissioned in 1970. In 1840, it was home to 281 people. The Roman Catholic Church dates from 1891 and is the replacement of a barn church.

Megen or Meghem is a small city in the southern part of the Netherlands, in the province North Brabant, close to the river Maas. It is part of the Oss municipality. The number of inhabitants is approximately 1700.

The village was first mentioned in 1191 as "Egenus de Haren", and means "sandy ridge".The chapel of the monastery of the Sisters of St. Francis was built in 1520. The monastery is surrounded by a moat and was buildings from the 17th century. The Catholic St Lambertus Church was built between 1867 and 1868 in Gothic Revival style.Haren was home to 485 people in 1840. Before it became a part of the municipality Oss in 1994, Haren was a municipality together with Macharen and Megen.

The municipality covered the three villages Dieden, Demen, and Neerlangel (then just called "Langel"), located on the left bank of the Maas. Dieden, Demen en Langel was a separate municipality until 1923, when it was merged with Ravenstein.

Molenhoek is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Druten, and lies about 11 km northwest of Wijchen.It was first mentioned in 1899 as Molenhoek, and means "wind mill corner" after a wind mill which was demolished in 1922. The postal authorities have placed Molenboek under Horssen

Batenburg is a city in the municipality of Wijchen, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located on the Meuse, about 15 km west of Nijmegen. It is well known for the remains of a medieval fort in the center of the town. Batenburg received city rights in 1349. Until 1984, Batenburg was a separate municipality.It was first mentioned in 1166 as Battenburg. The etymology in unclear. Batenburg developed around Batenburg Castle. In 1347, it received city rights., and by 1400, had walls and two city gates. The castle dated from the mid-12th century. It was destroyed and rebuilt many times until 1795 and was later used as a stone quarry. The medieval Dutch Reformed Church was heavy damaged around 1600 and rebuilt between 1608 and 1634 without a choir. The tower dates from the early 15th century. The city did not develop, and was home to 441 people in 1840.

Macharen is a village in the southern part of the Netherlands, in the province North Brabant. It is part of the Oss municipality. The village was first mentioned in 1107 as Machera, and means "suitable sandy ridge".The Catholic St Petrus Bandenkerk was built between 1862 and 1867, however the tower dates from the 15th century.Macharen was home to 389 people in 1840. Macharen originally was a part of the county Megen, which was founded around 1145. In 1810, it became municipality together with Megen and Haren. It became a part of the municipality Oss in 1994.

Maasbommel is a city in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of West Maas en Waal, and lies about 7 km north of Oss. It received city rights in 1312. Maasbommel was a separate municipality until 1818, when it was merged with Appeltern.

Batenburg Castle (Kasteel Batenburg in Dutch) is located in the village of Batenburg, in the Gelderland province in the Netherlands. Construction is thought to have started on the castle in 1300. The castle is located on the northern edge of the village. It is surrounded by a moat. The castle was rebuilt in 1600 on the foundations of an earlier structure; The present castle was destroyed by fire in 1795 and is now preserved as ruins: the ring wall with towers, the remains of three extended round towers with a basement underneath and the remains of the gatehouse. These are flanked by semicircular towers, all built with limestone brick. Batenburg Windmill was formerly owned by the castle. The site is recognized as a Rijksmonument under number 8725.
