Rossum is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Rossum was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1999, when it was merged with Maasdriel.

The town of Kerkdriel had 6,765 inhabitants, on 1 January 2019. The approximate built-up area of the town is 1.5 km², and contains 2,835 residences. The statistical area "Kerkdriel", which includes peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 10,210.Due to its positioning between two rivers (Meuse and Waal), a strong local linguistic accent developed during the post second-world-war period. Those who speak the "Driels" accent may be identified via the test phrase "Kees de Beer" (proper: Keas d'n Bear).

Maasdriel (Dutch pronunciation: [maːzˈdril] ) is a municipality in the province of Gelderland, in the eastern Netherlands. Maasdriel was formed on 1 January, 1999 by the merger of the former municipalities of Ammerzoden (including Well, Wellseind en Wordragen), Hedel, Heerewaarden, Maasdriel (Alem, Hoenzadriel, Kerkdriel and Velddriel) and Rossum (including Hurwenen). The former municipality of Maasdriel was called "Driel" before 1944.

It was first mentioned in 850 as Hesola, and probably means "forest with shrubbery". In 1840, it was home 258 people. The Dutch Reformed Church dates from 1887, but has a 15th century tower.

The siege of San Andreas also known as the siege of Sint-Andries was a military event that took place during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War from 28 January to 6 March 1600. The Spanish garrison of San Andreas was besieged by an Anglo-Dutch force led by Maurice of Nassau. A Spanish relief force under the command of Luis de Velasco failed to relieve the fort after having been turned back by the besiegers. The fort surrendered after the garrison mutinied and accepted payment from Maurice.

Hurwenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Thijs Straver is the mayor of Hurwenen. Hurwenen was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Rossum, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was also a part of Rossum.

Hoenzadriel is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel and lies about 6 km north of 's-Hertogenbosch. It was first mentioned in 722 as Hunsetti. The etymology is unclear. In 1840, it was home to 396 people. In 1939, the Dutch Reformed Church was built. The church was built by the Roman Catholics, because they wanted to use the reformed church in Den Bosch and offered a church to Hoenzadriel in return. In 1975, the church was decommissioned and is now a residential home.

It was first mentioned in 996 as Thrile. The veld (field) was later added to distinguish from Kerkdriel (church). In 1840, it was home to 422 people. The St. Martinus Church was built in 1858 and destroyed in 1944. In 1953, a new church was completed.
