The siege of San Andreas also known as the siege of Sint-Andries was a military event that took place during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War from 28 January to 6 March 1600. The Spanish garrison of San Andreas was besieged by an Anglo-Dutch force led by Maurice of Nassau. A Spanish relief force under the command of Luis de Velasco failed to relieve the fort after having been turned back by the besiegers. The fort surrendered after the garrison mutinied and accepted payment from Maurice.

Heerewaarden is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 8 km south of Tiel. Heerewaarden was a separate municipality until 1999, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was part of Rossum.

Maren is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Oss, about 10 km northeast of 's-Hertogenbosch.

Kessel is a village in the southern Netherlands. It is located in Oss, North Brabant about 12 km northeast of 's-Hertogenbosch on the river Maas. The village was first mentioned in 997 as Casella. It is derived from castle, but means little house.Kessel was a separate municipality until 1821, when it became a part of Alem, Maren en Kessel. Kessel was home to 298 people in 1840. In 1944, the village of Kessel and neighbouring Maren were evacuated, and the church was destroyed during the fighting. After the war, a new village Maren-Kessel was built between the two villages. In 2011, it was merged into municipality of Oss.

Rossum is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Rossum was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1999, when it was merged with Maasdriel.

Alem is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 10 km north of 's-Hertogenbosch. It used to part of the province in North Brabant. In 1934, it became part of Gelderland. Until 1958, Alem, Maren en Kessel was a separate municipality. The villages of Maren and Maren-Kessel are now part of the municipality of Lith.

Wadenoijen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Tiel, and lies about 4 km west of Tiel. Standing at the edge of the village, near the Linge river, is the village church, a building with a Romanesque tower and nave and a Gothic choir. Wadenoijen was a separate municipality between 1818 and 1956, when the area was divided between the municipalities of Tiel and Zoelen.

Hurwenen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Maasdriel, and lies about 11 km southwest of Tiel. Thijs Straver is the mayor of Hurwenen. Hurwenen was a separate municipality until 1955, when it was merged with Rossum, except for a short period between 1818 and 1821, when it was also a part of Rossum.

Zennewijnen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Tiel, and lies about 3 km south of Tiel. It was first mentioned in 850 as Sinuinum. The etymology in unclear. The Premonstratensian monastery Mariënschoot was located near Zennewijnen since the 13th century and a site for pilgrimage. In 1372, the monastery burnt down and was demolished in 1572. In 1840, it was home to 171 people. There is a still a brickworks in Zennewijnen.
