Vandalur

Arignar Anna Zoological Park (abbreviated AAZP), also known as the Vandalur Zoo, is a zoological garden located in Vandalur, to southwest of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, about 31 kilometres (19 mi) from the Chennai Central and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from Chennai Airport. Established in 1855, it is the first public zoo in India. It is affiliated with the Central Zoo Authority of India. Spread over an area of 602 hectares (1,490 acres), including a 92.45-hectare (228.4-acre) rescue and rehabilitation centre, the park is the largest zoological park in India. The zoo houses 2,553 species of flora and fauna across 1,265 acres (512 ha). As of 2012 the park houses around 1,500 wild species, including 46 endangered species, in its 160 enclosures. As of 2010, there were about 47 species of mammals, 63 species of birds, 31 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians, 28 species of fishes, and 10 species of insects in the park. The park, with an objective to be a repository of the state's fauna, is credited with being the second wildlife sanctuary in Tamil Nadu after Mudumalai National Park.

Gold Souk Grandé is a shopping mall, in the city of Chennai, India. The project was unveiled in April 2009 by actress Shobana. It is located next to Crescent Engineering College in Chennai and will be operational by first quarter of 2015. The Gold Souk Grande Chennai is Arena Group's first venture in Tamil Nadu.

B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, formerly B. S. Abdur Rahman University, is a private deemed university located in Tamil Nadu, India. Previously, functioning under University of Madras (1984–2001) and Anna University (2001–09) as Crescent Engineering College, the institute gained deemed status in 2008–09. It is located in Vandalur near Tambaram and opposite to Arignar Anna Zoological Park, a suburban area of Chennai, India.

Mannivakkam is a town near Chennai Metropolitan City in the Indian state of Tamil-Nadu India. Mannivakkam lies between Vandalur and Mudichur, 7.5 kilometers from Tambaram and 2 kilometers from Vandalur. Vandalur Reserve Forest is a protected area located in the suburb of Vandalur to the southwestern part of Chennai, about 30 km from the city centre. It is bordered by the Grand Southern Trunk (GST) Road in the west and Suddhanandha Bharathi Street on the northern and the eastern sides and is intersected by the Vandalur–Kelambakkam Road on the southern side. The reserve forest contains Arignar Anna Zoological Park, the largest zoological garden in the Indian Subcontinent.

Kilambakkam Bus Terminus, officially Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus, is a bus terminus in Kilambakkam, a southern suburb of Chennai, India. Situated along the GST Road, it became operational on 30 December 2023. Spread over an area of 88.52 acres (358,200 m2), it was built to decongest the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus in Koyambedu. It is an integrated bus terminus for mofussil buses operated by TNSTC, SETC, KSRTC, KSRTC SWIFT and contract carriage buses. The terminus is connected to other parts of the Chennai Metropolitan Area and suburbs by MTC buses.

PERI Institute of Technology is an engineering college in West Tambaram, Tamil Nadu, India. The college is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

Perungalathur railway station is one of the railway station of the Chennai Beach–Chengelpet section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network a suburb of Chennai. It serves the neighbourhoods of Perungalathur and Peerkankaranai. It is situated about 32 km (20 mi) from Chennai Beach and has an elevation of 26 m (85 ft) above sea level.

Recently Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to upgrade Tambaram to Corporation by expanding its territory till Perungulathur.

Kilambakkam is a suburban locality in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located between Vandalur and Urapakkam along Grand Southern Trunk Road (GST Road). It is the entrance gateway for the Chennai City from the southern end. CMDA is constructing a bus terminus for South bound buses and Extension of Metro Rail Phase 1 of Chennai Metro Rail Limited.
