Wildau

The Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau ('UAS Wildau' for short) is the largest of five universities of applied sciences in the federal state of Brandenburg, Germany. TH Wildau was founded as a technical university of applied sciences in 1991, but its connection to engineering education dates back further to the late 1940s. Today it sits on a modern and compact campus, with direct S-Bahn access to Germany's capital city, Berlin.

Königs Wusterhausen Central Tower was a 243 m (797 ft), freestanding steel framework tower on the Funkerberg of Königs Wusterhausen, Germany. The tower, with its unique triangular cross section, was built from 1924 to 1925. The tower collapsed during the storm Quimburga on 13 November 1972.

The Königs Wusterhausen transmitter (German: Sender Königs Wusterhausen) was a large transmission facility for longwave, mediumwave and shortwave radio, located near Königs Wusterhausen southeast of Berlin, Germany. Initially built by the telegraph battalion of the German Army, operation began during World War I in 1916. On 22 December 1920, the transmission of a Christmas concert marked the birth of public broadcasting in Germany.

Zeesen is a village south of Königs Wusterhausen in Germany, known for Deutschlandsender Zeesen, which was built in 1927, and the Zeesen short-wave transmitter.

The Zeuthener See (German pronunciation ) is a lake situated to the south-east of Berlin, the capital city of Germany, in the states of Berlin and Brandenburg. At an elevation of 34 metres (112 ft), its surface area is 2.33 square kilometres (0.90 sq mi).

The Zeesen short-wave transmitter was a 70-metre-high shortwave radio transmission mast constructed at Zeesen in Germany in 1931. Consisting of a lattice tower of pitch pine timbers, it was one of Germany's first short-wave broadcasting transmitters. It was equipped with four transmitting arms, at 90-degree separation, surmounted by two omnidirectional aerials. In 1939, the wooden tower was replaced by a 70-metre high steel mast with a single omnidirectional aerial. This mast was dismantled, together with all the Zeesen transmitters, in 1945.

Zernsdorf is a village in Dahme-Spreewald, Brandenburg, Germany. Since 2003 it has been part of the city of Königs Wusterhausen. The population is approximately 4,500.

Schmöckwitz (pronounced [ˈʃmœkvɪts] (listen)) is a German locality (Ortsteil) within the Berlin borough (Bezirk) of Treptow-Köpenick. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Köpenick.
