Manapakkam

The Madras Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, known in short as the MIOT International Hospital, is a multi-specialty hospital in Manapakkam, Chennai, India. It is a specialty hospital in the field of joint replacement surgeries, Interventional Cardiology, orthopaedics and trauma. Founded by P. V. A. Mohandas, the hospital was established in February 1999 on a 14-acre (5.7 ha) land with German collaboration, with an initial investment of ₹500,000. The hospital has 1000 beds and employs 170 physicians. It receives nearly 3,500 foreign patients every year, contributing 25 percent of the hospital's patients. North and East Africa account for many of these foreign patients.

Nandambakkam is a western neighbourhood of Chennai, India. It is known for the Chennai Trade Centre and the Surgical Instruments Factory. In 2011 Nandambakkam was included to Chennai district by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Chennai Trade Centre is a permanent exhibition complex in Nandambakkam, Chennai, hosting several trade fairs and conventions round the year. It is the first fair infrastructure that has been developed by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)—the premier trade promotion agency of the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry—outside Delhi. A joint initiative of the ITPO and the Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation, which hold 51 and 49 percent stakes, respectively, the Trade Centre was designed by C R Narayan Rao, and was commissioned in January 2001, while the convention centre was commissioned on 1 November 2004. The exhibition hall was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹ 23 crore and the convention centre at a cost of ₹ 22 crore. Together, these centres cover 10,560 sq m and are fully booked for 75 days in a year. Built over an area of 25.48 acres, the centre comprises four modules of 4,400 m2 each of exhibition halls and support services to be built in a phased manner. In the first phase, two air-conditioned halls without pillars or columns encompassing areas of 5,000 m2 and 1,850 m2 were constructed. There are three halls, viz, Hall No. 1 (4,400 m2), Hall No. 2 (1,760 m2) and Hall No. 3 (4,400 m2). The halls feature a height of 6 m to display all merchandise including machinery. These have been supplemented recently with a modern, fully air-conditioned convention centre. All the halls are inter-linked, and Hall No. 3 is connected with the convention centre. The convention centre can accommodate 2,000 people with a provision for dividing the hall into two equal parts and has an audiovisual facility suitable for multi-purpose use such as conferences, conventions, cultural shows, and so forth. The Chennai Trade Centre is managed by Tamil Nadu Trade Promotion Organisation (TNTPO), a joint venture of ITPO and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO).

Parangimalai Assembly constituency (Tamil: பரங்கிமலை சட்டமன்ற தொகுதி) is one of the 234 state legislative assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, a state in southern India is now defunct. It was in existence in 1967 and 1971 assembly elections. At that time, this constituency was represented only by the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran. Later it was merged with Alandur assembly constituency from 1977 assembly election.

Ekkattuthangal, also known as Ekkaduthangal or Ekkatuthangal, is a neighborhood in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu, India. It is surrounded by Jafferkhanpet, Guindy and Ramapuram. Area pincode is 600032, and previously it was 600097. The neighborhood is known for factories involved in lathes, milling, and welding. The neighborhood is located close to Kathipara Junction, which is the center point of the city, connecting to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Chennai International Airport, Chennai Central railway station and Sriperumbudur. This area is also known for having two big Media houses Jaya TV and Pudiyathala Murai. Abutting the Guindy Industrial Estate, the region is experiencing rapid growth including technology parks like Olympia Tech Park, Thamarai Tech Park and Virtusa and five-star luxury hotels such as the Hilton Chennai. The Chennai Metro railway station at Ekkattuthangal became operational on 29 June 2015.

Saint Patrick's Church is a church located near St. Thomas Mount, in Chennai, India. The patron saint is Saint Patrick. Built in the 18th century, the church remains the place of worship for the Roman Catholics in the locality. From 1944, only Indian priests serve this church, before which priests from different countries served. Currently Fr.Shylock Stephen is the parish priest. This parish has more than 2000 RC families.
