Biesdorf Palace

Biesdorf (German pronunciation: [ˈbiːsˌdɔʁf] (listen)) is a locality (Ortsteil) within the Berlin borough (Bezirk) of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Until 2001 it was part of the former borough of Marzahn.

The station consists of two island platforms paired by direction, with the S-Bahn serving the outer faces of each platform and the U-Bahn the inner faces of the same platforms. This makes interchange between the two modes very easy and is a unique situation in Berlin. At 160 metres (520 ft) in length, the platforms are the longest in the Berlin U-Bahn network.

Kaulsdorf (German pronunciation: [ˈkaʊ̯lsˌdɔʁf] (listen)) is a locality within the borough Marzahn-Hellersdorf of Berlin. Kaulsdorf was incorporated into Greater Berlin by the Prussian Greater Berlin Act in 1920. From then on it belonged to the former borough of Lichtenberg until 1979, when it became part of the then borough of Marzahn. In 1986 Marzahn's eastern areas, including Kaulsdorf, were separated to form the new Borough of Hellerdorf, which was merged in 2001 to form the current borough. Kaulsdorf has, as of 2006, a population of 18,822 and encompasses an area of 8,7 km².

Jesus Church (Kaulsdorf) (German: Jesuskirche, colloquially also Dorfkirche, village church) is the church of the Evangelical Berlin-Kaulsdorf Congregation, a member of today's Protestant umbrella organisation Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (under this name since 2004). The church building is located in Berlin, borough Marzahn-Hellersdorf, in the locality of Kaulsdorf. The church was named after Jesus of Nazareth. The congregation's parish comprises the area of the historical village of Kaulsdorf, which had been incorporated into Berlin by the Prussian Greater Berlin Act in 1920.

The Tierpark Berlin is one of two zoos located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1955 and is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. As of 31 December 2013, the zoo houses 7,250 animals from 846 species, in an area of 160 hectares (400 acres). Tierpark Berlin also features two public exhibits free of charge, one being the Bärenschaufenster (Bear Show Window) for American black bears. Tierpark Berlin is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and participates in about 120 breeding programmes (EEP). It maintains the international studbooks for endangered species of deer and wild asses of Asia and Africa as well as the European studbook for little pied cormorants. The zoo further participates in attempts of reintroducing species to areas where they have become endangered or extinct and it financially supports selected in situ projects for the protection of natural habitats.
