Bucksburn railway station

Bucksburn is an suburb of the city of Aberdeen, Scotland, named after the stream that flows through it. The stream is called Bucks Burn. Bucksburn was formerly a market village before being swallowed up by the spread of the city. The area is bordered by countryside, in particular Kirkhill Forest and the land surrounding Brimmond Hill. Bucksburn was one of the first established villages in Aberdeen, in the time of the Harrying of Buchan in 1308, when Robert the Bruce was present in Aberdeen.

The Bucks Burn is a stream in Aberdeen which flows into the River Don. It lends its name to the former town of Bucksburn which is now part of Aberdeen City.

Bucksburn Academy's catchment area includes the suburbs of Bucksburn, Newhills and Kingswells, though some pupils do attend from other nearby areas, such as Stoneywood and Dyce. The school has a dedicated Additional Support Wing which has capacity for 96 children. The wing is a city-wide provision that provides education for children with moderate to severe and complex additional support needs The languages taught at the school are French, German Spanish and sometimes Mandarin. Bucksburn Academy opened in late October 2009 and replaced the existing Bankhead Academy. The new school had some of the greatest facilities in Scotland, rivalling only those of Cults Academy in the city. When the new school opened, wholesale changes occurred with the introduction of a new head teacher and multiple members of existing staff were replaced.

Sunnybank Football Club are a Scottish football club, based in the city of Aberdeen. Members of the Scottish Junior Football Association, they currently play in the North First Division. In respect of honours won, the club are historically regarded as one of the "big two" of North Region Junior football along with city rivals Banks O' Dee, sharing the distinction of being the only North clubs to lift Junior football's national prize, the Scottish Junior Cup. The club are based at Heathryfold Park in the North-West suburbs of Aberdeen and their colours are black and white.

The local football team is Northstar Community football Club With Ages Under 15's, Under 13's and Under 12's. The Under 15's currently play in the ADJFA "A" League, whereas the Under 13's play in the ADJFA "C" League. The Under 12's play non competitive football.
