Horse Wood, Mileham

Mileham is a village approximately midway between East Dereham and Fakenham in Mid Norfolk with a population of 563 people in 2011. The village sits astride the B1145 Kings Lynn to Mundesley road that dissects Mid Norfolk west to east. It is the old coaching road from Kings Lynn to Norwich and then on to Great Yarmouth. The name Mileham comes from the presence of a mill; the base of the last one can still be seen from the Litcham Road. (There is a possibility that it may be linked to a Saxon water mill.) There is also a "Mill Farm" to the west of the village. Mileham is a linear settlement in 'High Norfolk', and is also a 'Conservation Village', centred on Burwood Hall, The Church, The Castle, Park Farm, Old Hall Farm and Manor Farm. There are ruins of a Norman castle (now a nature reserve) near to the site of the Roman Camp and a church, St John the Baptist, with some rare stained glass windows.

Beeston with Bittering is a civil parish in the Breckland district of Norfolk, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 505, increasing to 566 at the 2011 census. It includes the villages of Beeston and Bittering.

Sir William Calthorpe made presentations to the rectory of Beeston in 1460, 1481 and 1492.Keith Skipper, Eastern Daily Press journalist and champion of the Norfolk dialect, was born in the village.

Bittering is a hamlet in the county of Norfolk, England, now in the civil parish of Beeston with Bittering. It lies west of East Dereham and south of Fakenham. The area was formerly Little Bittering parish, which was annexed to the neighbouring Beeston. The mediaeval church of St Peter is a Grade II* listed building.

Longham is a village situated in the Breckland District of Norfolk and covers an area of 540 hectares (2.1 square miles) with a population of 219 in 100 households at the 2001 census, increasing to a population of 224 in 99 households at the 2011 Census. Longham lies 5 miles (8.0 km) north-west of Dereham and 11 miles (18 km) south of Fakenham. The villages name means 'homestead/village of Lawa's people'. Longham is served by the mediaeval church of St. Andrew & St. Peter in the Benefice of Gressenhall. It is a grade II* listed building.

Honeypot Wood is a 9.5-hectare (23-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Dereham in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife TrustThis is an ancient coppiced wood on calcareous soil. It has a rich ground layer, which is dominated by dog's mercury, and other flora include greater butterfly-orchid and broad-leaved helleborine. A total of 208 plant species have been recorded.There is public access to the site.

Litcham School is a mixed all-through school located in the village of Litcham in the English county of Norfolk. It has around 640 pupils aged 4–16 (Years R-11), and the current headteacher is Robert Martlew. Litcham School is coeducational and pupils are admitted without regard to ability. In September 2012 the school governing bodies of Litcham High School and Litcham Primary School merged, creating a school catering for pupils from ages 4 to 16. Operationally the two schools maintain their current primary and secondary structure on their existing sites.Litcham is part of the Synergy Multi-academy Trust, which is centred on Reepham High School.

Wendling railway station was a railway station in Wendling, Norfolk on the Great Eastern line between Dereham and King's Lynn. It closed in 1968. This section of the former railway has been used for improvements to the A47, with the site of the station being lost under the roadworks. The station featured in the Dad's Army episodes Battle School and The Day the Balloon Went Up.

Litcham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated some 10 km (6.2 mi) north-east of the town of Swaffham and 40 km (25 mi) west of the city of Norwich. The village is located on the B1145 a route which runs between King's Lynn and Mundesley. The civil parish has an area of 7.89 km2 (3.05 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 592 in 257 households at the time of the 2001 census, increasing to a population of 618 in 217 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Breckland. Litcham is in the Launditch hundred of the Breckland district of Norfolk, England. It is almost equidistant from three major market towns: East Dereham, Fakenham and Swaffham. The Bull Inn is a 17th-century coaching inn with parts dating back to the 14th century. It is the one surviving of many pubs once serving the village. The village has all the necessary amenities such as a post office, butchers, church, Methodist chapel, bus garage, fish and chip shop and health centre.

Wendling is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 5.25 km2 (2.03 sq mi) and had a population of 323 in 140 households at the 2001 census, reducing to a population of 313 in 129 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of Breckland. The villages name possibly means 'W(a)endel's people' or perhaps, 'Wennel's place'. The exact form of the personal name is not clear.The pioneering photographer Robert Howlett, famous for his iconic portrait of the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel, is buried in the churchyard of St Peter and St Paul.

Holly Farm Meadow, Wendling is a 2.6-hectare (6.4-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Dereham in Norfolk, England.This meadow in the valley of the River Wensum has a line of calcareous springs which supports fen grassland which has diverse flora. The unimproved meadow is maintained by seasonal grazing. There are also areas of tall fen and dry grassland with many anthills.The site is private land with no public access.

Litcham Common is a 24.9-hectare (62-acre) Local Nature Reserve in Norfolk. It is owned by Neil Foster, Lexham Estate, and managed by Norfolk County Council, Lexham Estate and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.This heathland site has areas of acid grassland, wet and dry heath, scrub and mature oak and birch woodland.There is access from Dunham Road and the Nar Valley Way, which both go through the common.
