Ohayo Mountain

Snake Rocks is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York south of Bearsville. Acorn Hill is located west-northwest, and Ohayo Mountain is located east-southeast of Snake Rocks.

Glenford is a hamlet in Ulster County, New York, United States. The community is located along New York State Route 28, 8.5 miles (13.7 km) northwest of Kingston. Glenford has a post office with ZIP code 12433, which opened on September 14, 1886.

The Beaver Kill, sometimes written as the Beaverkill or Beaverkill River, is a tributary of the East Branch Delaware River, a main tributary of the Delaware River, approximately 44 miles (71 km) long, in the U.S. state of New York. The kill drains a 300-square-mile (780 km2) area of the Catskill Mountains and has long been celebrated as one of the most famous trout streams in the United States. Its preservation helped establish many of the basic conservation principles of rivers in the United States. The river has been popular as a trout stream since the early 19th century, when it became one of the first resort destinations in the United States. The subsequent depletion of the brook trout population by the 1850s led to an early conservation movement to preserve the river, including the introduction of hatcheries for brown trout. Its popularity as a trout stream arises in part from the many cold springs and deep pools in the upper river that keep the water at an even cold temperature. The fly fishing industry is centered on Roscoe, home to several fly-shops and bed and breakfasts catering to fishermen from around the world. Bearsville is a hamlet in Ulster County, New York, United States, in the town of Woodstock. It is located along New York State Route 212, within Catskill State Park and just to the west of the hamlet of Woodstock.Bearsville was named not for the numerous local black bears, but for German peddler and storekeeper Christian Baehr, who built a store on the Sawkill Creek in 1839.Places of interest in Bearsville, or named for it, include Bearsville Records and Bearsville Studios, and The Bearsville Theater and restaurant complex.The highest known temperature in Bearsville was 101 °F (38 °C), which occurred in 1995. The lowest temperature was −27 °F (−33 °C), recorded in 1994.

Acorn Hill is a mountain located in the Catskill Mountains of New York northeast of Wittenberg. Snake Rocks is located southeast, and Johns Mountain is located north-northeast of Acorn Hill.

Maverick Concert Hall was built in 1916 and was part of the Maverick Artist Colony in Hurley, New York. The concert hall hosts the Maverick Concerts, a summer chamber music festival. Alexander Platt is the current music director. The mainstay of the series, which runs from the end of June through early September, is to be found in the chamber music concerts performed by distinguished soloists and ensembles on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The Maverick Festival, a precursor to the Maverick Concerts, was founded in 1915 by Hervey White, and by 1931 the festival suspended.

Bearsville Sound Studio was a recording studio founded by Albert Grossman in the Bearsville section of Woodstock, New York.

Woodstock is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States, in the northern part of the county, northwest of Kingston. It lies within the borders of the Catskill Park. The population was 6,287 at the 2020 census, up from 5,884 in 2010.

Glen Tonche is an estate atop Mount Tonche, in Ulster County, near Shokan, New York. The estate's house was built in 1928 as the summer family compound of American businessman Raymond Pitcairn, whose family founded PPG Industries. Since 1999 the property has been the location of Allaire Studios, a recording facility.

West Hurley is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,917 at the 2020 census. West Hurley is located in the Town of Hurley and is inside the Catskill Park. The community is northwest of Kingston on Route 28. It was one of many villages that were flooded during the creation of the Ashokan Reservoir. The village was moved, and currently resides on the northern bank of the reservoir.

Woodstock is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 2,521 according to the 2020 census. The community of Woodstock is in the eastern part of the Town of Woodstock and is northwest of Kingston. It is located along NY 212 near its junction with NY 375. Although the name of the community and the town lent its name to the Woodstock Festival, that event did not take place in Woodstock.

The Byrdcliffe Colony, also called the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony or Byrdcliffe Historic District, was founded in 1902 near Woodstock, New York by Jane Byrd McCall and Ralph Radcliffe Whitehead and colleagues, Bolton Brown (artist) and Hervey White (writer). It is the oldest operating arts and crafts colony in America. The Arts and Crafts movement arose in the late nineteenth century in reaction to the dehumanizing monotony and standardization of industrial production. Byrdcliffe was created as an experiment in utopian living inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.The colony is still in operation today and is located on 300 acres (1.2 km2) with 35 original buildings, all designed in the Arts and Crafts style. There is a self-guided walking tour through the compound as well as a hiking path that leads to the mountain top which gives way to scenic Catskill views. Along with ongoing music, theater and art performances held in the Byrdcliffe Theater, Barn and on property lawns, The Byrdcliffe Colony hosts an Artist-In-Residence program that houses over 70 artists each summer who practice in a wide variety of fields and media. The program accepts writers, composers, and visual artists. Byrdcliffe maintains an exhibition and performance space in the heart of Woodstock, the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts, which hosts 6 or 7 exhibitions of primarily contemporary art annually.
