Dial Mill is a historic gristmill and flour mill outside of Conyers, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 6, 1977.The mill is a three-story frame building but as tall as a modern five-story building. It is made of hand-hewn virgin pine, with sixteen-inch square interior beams. It has a one-story shed addition on the north side and an overhanging roof at first-floor level around the west and south sides. The building has flour and corn milling equipment "with shuts and grain elevators containing an intricate system of belts and pulleys which carried grain from floor to floor during the milling process."It is located northeast of Conyers off GA 138, near the historic Hightower Trail. It is significant as one of the first mills in this area of Georgia.

It is bordered to the south by the city of Conyers, the county seat, and to the north by the Yellow River. Milstead was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census with a population of 628.

Oxford is a city in Newton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,308 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It is the location of Oxford College of Emory University. Much of the city is part of the Oxford Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

Oxford College of Emory University (Oxford College) is a residential college of Emory University, a private research university in Atlanta, Georgia. Oxford College is located in Oxford and specializes in the foundations of liberal arts education. The college is located on Emory University's original campus 38 miles (61 km) east of Emory's current Atlanta campus. Students who enroll in Oxford College complete an associate of the arts degree there, after which they can continue their studies at Emory's Atlanta campus to pursue a bachelor degree without any additional applications. Oxford College has an enrollment of nearly 1,000 freshman and sophomore students. Campus organizations include various community service groups, interest clubs, and social clubs, the school's replacement for traditional fraternities and sororities. The university-wide unofficial mascot, a skeleton named "Lord Dooley", has its origins in the Oxford campus. In terms of athletics, the college participates in NJCAA Division III sports, with the men's and women's tennis teams having won national championships multiple times.

Conyers is an Atlanta suburb, the county seat of and only city in Rockdale County, Georgia, United States. The city is 24 miles (38.6 km) east of downtown Atlanta and is a part of the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 15,195. The formerly separate town of Milstead is now part of Conyers.

Rockdale County High School is located in the heart of Conyers, Georgia, United States, in the old-town district. RCHS is one of three high schools located in Rockdale County, along with Heritage High School and Salem High School. RCHS formerly hosted the Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology on its campus before they moved to the CJ Hicks Elementary School complex. The school's mascot is the Bulldog. Approximately 2,100 students are enrolled.

Orna Villa, also known as the Alexander Means House and the Means/Tanner House, is a historic Greek Revival house located on Emory Street in Oxford, Georgia. Built in 1825, it is the oldest house in Oxford. The house is a work of Richard K. Dearing. The home was owned for a time by Alexander Means, a founder and president of Emory College (the original site of which is now Oxford College of Emory University) and was used as a hospital during the American Civil War. The house has been featured in works on haunted houses because of its alleged association with the ghost of Tobe Means. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1973. Orna Villa was the location of a college frat party in The Vampire Diaries.It is a contributing building within the Oxford Historic District which also is NRHP-listed.

Newton High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Covington, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Newton County School System. Located thirty-two miles outside Atlanta, it is one of three schools serving Newton County. The school serves 2,000 students in grades 9–12.

Salem Camp Ground is a historic camp meeting site in Covington, Georgia. It was established in 1828. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 5, 1998. It is located at 3940 Salem Road. The interdenominational camp offers activities for children and adults. It has camper hook ups and a hotel and is intended as a place for peace, worship, reunion, and spiritual renewal.The listing includes 33 contributing resources.

The Almand-O'Kelley-Walker House, in Conyers, Georgia, is a historic house built around 1870. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.It is a one-story folk Victorian frame house on brick piers. It has four original chimneys and six original fireplaces.It has been referred to as a House of Seven Gables.The listing included three contributing buildings and two contributing structures.
