Achttienhoven is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Nieuwkoop, and lies about 7 km north of Woerden. The statistical area "Achttienhoven", which also includes the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 130.Between 1817 and 1855, Achttienhoven was a separate municipality, sometimes called "Achttienhoven en de Bosch".The nature reserve De Haeck lies northwest of the hamlet.

It is located in the municipality of De Ronde Venen, about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) west of the main A2 motorway, between Utrecht and Amsterdam. The main street is the Dorpstraat, where most shops and the municipal offices are located. There is a police office, a fire department, 6 supermarkets, sport facilities, and a coffee shop. There is no police or doctor at the weekends.

Kamerik-Mijzijde, also just called Mijzijde, is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden, and lies about 4 km north of the city of Woerden. It consists of a number of farms some distance west from the villages of Kamerik and Kanis. Between 1818 and 1857, Kamerik-Mijzijde was the name of a separate municipality, covering the western half of the later municipality of Kamerik.It was first mentioned in 1427 as Camerick mitter nyezyde, and means "side of the Meye (river)".. Mijzijde is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Kamerik. Mijzijde has no place name signs and contains about 60 houses.

De Hoef is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of De Ronde Venen, and lies about 13 km northeast of Alphen aan den Rijn. Flowing through the village is a meandering river called "de Kromme Mijdrecht", the width of which varies between about 8 and 35 metres. On average, it is used by about two freight ships per day, but in summer the river is full of pleasure boats. It was first mentioned in 1639 as De Hoeff, and means "parcel of land". In 1840, it was home to 266 people. In 1921, the Roman Catholic Antonius van Padua Church was built.

Wilnis is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is located in the municipality of De Ronde Venen, between Mijdrecht and Vinkeveen. It is about twenty kilometres south of Amsterdam. Wilnis was a separate municipality until 1989.

Kanis is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of Woerden, and lies about 4 km north of Woerden. The hamlet was first mentioned between 1839 and 1859 as "de Verkeerde Kanis herbg", and was the name of an inn. Kanis means basket with fish. There is still a restaurant called De Kanis in the village, but it is not clear whether it is related to the original inn. In 1855, a Roman Catholic church was built in the village.
