The Eberhard Faber Pencil Factory is a former pencil factory complex in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York City. Designated as a historic district by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission (NYCLPC) in 2007, it is composed of nine buildings spread across two blocks. The factory was founded by John Eberhard Faber, the great-grandson of 18th-century pencil entrepreneur Kaspar Faber. The younger Faber established the United States' first pencil factory in Midtown Manhattan in 1866. Following a fire six years later, Faber moved to a larger location in Greenpoint, which expanded through the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the acquisition or addition of several buildings. Faber's children split the company from its German parent in 1898, and it remained in Greenpoint until 1956, when it moved to Pennsylvania. Today part of the complex is in use as the Kickstarter headquarters, while other portions of the complex have been converted to residential, commercial or industrial uses.

The Astral Apartments is an apartment building located at 184 Franklin Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York City. The Astral was built in 1885–1886 as affordable housing for employees of Charles Pratt's Astral Oil Works. It is a block-long brick and terra cotta building in the Queen Anne style. It features a central projecting section with a deep, three-story-high round arch recess. The roof features inward-looking decorative grotesques. Original amenities of the building included a settlement house, library, and kindergarten.Originally, a branch of the Pratt Institute Free Library operated from the ground floor of the Astral.The building was designed to echo red-brick apartments built for workers by George Peabody in London. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and designated a New York City landmark in 1983.

WNYC Transmitter Park is a 6.61-acre public park located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York City, where Greenpoint Avenue dead-ends by the East River shoreline. The site was acquired by the public radio station WNYC in 1935 as the site of twin antennas used for broadcasting. From 1937 to 1990, the city-operated station broadcast its AM signal from this location. Following the adoption of antennas in Kearny, New Jersey and atop the World Trade Center, the Greenpoint property sat unused. Construction on WNYC Transmitter Park began in August 2010 and the park opened two years later in September 2012.WNYC Transmitter Park still contains WNYC's old transmitter house. The park also includes a playground. And dominating the park from what would otherwise be a bleak brick wall is an enormous mural of a girl with flowers, by the artist Faile.

The Greenpoint (originally 10 Huron and also known as 21 India Street) is a two-building residential complex under development in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn. The two buildings are a 400 feet (120 m) tower with condos and a block-long five story building with rentals. It will be located next to a ferry stop.

Greenpoint Historic District is a national historic district in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It consists of 363 contributing commercial and residential buildings built between 1850 and 1900. It includes both substantial and modest row houses and numerous walk-up apartment buildings, as well as a variety of commercial buildings including the former Eberhard Faber Pencil Factory, six churches, and two banks.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Józef Piłsudski Institute of America (full name: Józef Piłsudski Institute of America for Research in the Modern History of Poland) was created in New York City in July 1943. It is an archive, museum and research center devoted to the study of modern Polish history and named after the Polish interwar statesman Józef Piłsudski.

Greenpoint Church is a Reformed Church in America and United Church of Christ church at 136 Milton Street in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. As of March 2012, it had a congregation of 80 people.Its fireplace tilework includes historic porcelain plaques depicting Robert Fulton and Robert Livingston. According to a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Union Porcelain Factory in Greenpoint probably manufactured the plaques in the 1870s. The Milton Street building had been a private residence built for Thomas C. Smith, owner of Brooklyn Union Gas Company, and later was home to the Greenpoint YMCA. The congregation has used the current building since it purchased it in 1942. Prior to that, the church was located in its original location 145 Kent Street, a structure dating to 1869 and which later became St. Elias Melkite Catholic Church.The Reverend Ann Kansfield has been one of the church's pastors since 2003. Her wife, the Rev. Jennifer Aull, has been co-pastor since 2006. Kansfield and Aull were cofounders of the group Room For All.The church hosts a dinner and soup kitchen for its local community. The church's food pantry program began in October 2007; it offers groceries to individuals and families, most of whom live in northern Brooklyn. A homeless shelter briefly opened at Greenpoint Reformed Church in November 2012, but a few months later moved to another neighborhood church.

Greenpoint was the terminal train station for the Evergreen Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. Greenpoint station opened on May 15, 1879 and was located at the intersection of Quay Street and Franklin Street at Greenpoint. A ferry connected with trains at the station operating across the East River to 23 Street in Manhattan. Greenpoint had one island platform. The station closed on September 28, 1885.

The Greenpoint Avenue station is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of Greenpoint and Manhattan Avenues in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, it is served by the G train at all times.

Newtown Creek, a 3.5-mile (6-kilometer) long tributary of the East River, is an estuary that forms part of the border between the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, in New York City. Channelization made it one of the most heavily used bodies of water in the Port of New York and New Jersey and thus one of the most polluted industrial sites in the US, containing years of discarded toxins, an estimated 30,000,000 US gallons (110,000,000 l; 25,000,000 imp gal) of spilled oil, including the Greenpoint oil spill, raw sewage from New York City’s sewer system, and other accumulation from a total of 1,491 sites.Newtown Creek was proposed as a potential Superfund site in September 2009, and received that designation on September 27, 2010.

Saint Vitus is a bar and music venue located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Opened in April 2011, the 2,500 square feet (230 m2) venue is known for its heavy metal atmosphere. Some notable metal bands that have played there include Pentagram and Black Anvil. In April 2014, the surviving members of Nirvana performed at Saint Vitus with Joan Jett and Kim Gordon. Pitchfork writer Brandon Stosuy has also booked bands at the venue, such as Converge, Iceage, and Deafheaven.
