Locust Grove Historic District

Locust Grove is a city in Henry County, Georgia, United States. The population was 8,947 in 2020. Some unincorporated communities such as Luella and many rural areas surround Locust Grove, and those communities have Locust Grove postal addresses. Locust Grove has experienced a growth in population and in businesses coming into the area. In 1900 the population of the city was 254 and is now over 5,000.

Locust Grove Institute (LGI), now Locust Grove Memorial Complex, is a former college preparatory school in Locust Grove, Henry County, Georgia, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

WMVV (90.7 FM) is a Christian radio station licensed to Griffin, Georgia, and serving the areas of Griffin, Forsyth, and Covington, as well as Southern and Eastern metro Atlanta. The station is owned by Life Radio Ministries. WMVV is simulcast on 91.7 WMVW in Peachtree City, Georgia. WMVV airs a format consisting of Christian talk and teaching programs as well as Christian Music. Christian Talk and Teaching programs heard on WMVV include Running to Win with Erwin Lutzer, Turning Point with David Jeremiah, Focus On The Family, and Revive Our Hearts with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.

Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit American domestic, wildlife, and exotic animal rescue and rehabilitation center. It is located on 250 acres in Locust Grove, Georgia and houses over 1,500 animals. Many of the center's animals were rescued from unlicensed owners, donated by circuses and zoos, or surrendered by individuals who were either unable to provide the proper care or did not want them.

Luella is an unincorporated community in Henry County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

Jenkinsburg is a city in Butts County, Georgia, United States. The population was 391 in 2020, up from 370 at the 2010 census.

Heron Bay is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Henry and Spalding counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. Its population was 4,679 as of the 2020 census.

Blacksville is an unincorporated community in Henry County, Georgia, United States. At the 2000 census it was recorded as a census-designated place (CDP), with a population of four. It was no longer a CDP at the 2010 census. Blacksville is named after the Black family of McDonough, Georgia, their family were one of the early pioneers to move to the village of McDonough where Blacksville is now located today. The segregation-era black high school for Henry County was in Blacksville and is now used as Henry County Middle School. Most of the community was subsequently annexed by nearby McDonough.

Luella High School is a public institution within the Henry County School System in Locust Grove, Georgia, United States. It hosts students from ninth through twelfth grades. Current enrollment is around 1,400 students. Luella High School shares facilities with Luella Elementary School and Luella Middle School.

The Henry County Library System (HCLS) is a public library system consisting of five branches in Henry County, Georgia. The five branches are located in the towns of Stockbridge, Hampton, Locust Grove, and McDonough. HCLS is a member of PINES, a program of the Georgia Public Library Service that covers 53 library systems in 143 counties of Georgia. Any resident in a PINES supported library system has access to over 10.6 million books in the system's circulation. The library is also serviced by GALILEO, a program of the University System of Georgia which stands for "GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online". This program offers residents in supported libraries access to over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. It also boasts over 10,000 journal titles in full text.The library also has an agreement with Gordon State College to combine resources to better serve the students at the school. The McDonough branch additionally allows access to classroom space, computers, and other resource assistance on an as-needed basis for students.

Double Cabins, also known as Mitchell-Walker-Hollberg House, is a historic site outside Griffin, Georgia in Spalding County, Georgia. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1973. It is located northeast of Griffin on Georgia State Route 155, at 3335 Jackson Road. The Greek Revival house, built in 1842, was named "Double Cabins" because that was the name of the stage coach stop across the road. The house was built by Shatteen Mitchell and "is a good example of the provincial adaptation of Greek Revival forms to an upcountry Georgia plantation home."
