Current enrollment is around 1,400 students. Luella High School shares facilities with Luella Elementary School and Luella Middle School.

Double Cabins, also known as Mitchell-Walker-Hollberg House, is a historic site outside Griffin, Georgia in Spalding County, Georgia. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 1973. It is located northeast of Griffin on Georgia State Route 155, at 3335 Jackson Road. The Greek Revival house, built in 1842, was named "Double Cabins" because that was the name of the stage coach stop across the road. The house was built by Shatteen Mitchell and "is a good example of the provincial adaptation of Greek Revival forms to an upcountry Georgia plantation home."

Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit American domestic, wildlife, and exotic animal rescue and rehabilitation center. It is located on 250 acres in Locust Grove, Georgia and houses over 1,500 animals. Many of the center's animals were rescued from unlicensed owners, donated by circuses and zoos, or surrendered by individuals who were either unable to provide the proper care or did not want them.

During the 19th Century Hampton was served by its own public high school, with more than 100 students attending in 1886. The school continued in existence throughout the 20th Century. Construction of a new Hampton High School broke ground on July 9, 2012, and became the 10th high school in Henry County, Georgia.

The Locust Grove Historic District, in Locust Grove, Georgia, is a 310 acres (130 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. It is centered on GA 42/US 23 between Hi-Hope Dr. & Grove Rd. The district includes 157 contributing buildings, a contributing structure, and two contributing sites, as well as 76 non-contributing buildings. It includes:

South Point is a shopping center in McDonough, Georgia. The mall opened in 2008 with JCPenney and Kohl's. Hobby Lobby and Hilton Garden Inn joined the tenant mix in 2009 and shortly after Academy Sports + Outdoors. Since opening their doors, these stores have repeatedly ranked as top performing in the region, drawing shoppers from as far away as 30 mi (48 km).TJ Maxx, Toys "R" Us and Haverty's were all confirmed and opened as anchors in 2012. Rooms to Go began construction in the 4th quarter of 2013 and have plans to open by the late summer of 2014. Freddy’s announced that they would be building a new restaurant in the center with a planned opening of May 2014.

Some unincorporated communities such as Luella and many rural areas surround Locust Grove, and those communities have Locust Grove postal addresses. Locust Grove has experienced a growth in population and in businesses coming into the area. In 1900 the population of the city was 254 and is now over 5,000.
