Nyugati pályaudvar (Western Railway Station) is a station on the M3 (North-South) line of the Budapest Metro. It is nominally located on the borders of District V, District VI and District XIII, the station itself is under Váci Road at between its intersections with Grand Boulevard and Katona József Street. The station was opened on 30 December 1981 as part of the extension of the line from Deák Ferenc tér to Lehel tér. Its name was Marx tér (Marx Square) before 1990. The station is one of the busiest on the line, as it provides connections to tram lines 4 and 6 on Grand Boulevard, including access to Buda via Margit Bridge. Also, it serves the adjacent namesake Nyugati Railway Station (regional and international lines).

Budapest Nyugati station (Hungarian: Nyugati pályaudvar; lit. 'western railway station'), generally referred to simply as Nyugati, is one of the three main railway terminals in Budapest, Hungary. The station is on the Pest side of Budapest, accessible by the 4 and 6 tramline and the M3 metro line.

Lehel tér is a station on the Budapest Metro M3 line. It opened on 30 December 1981 with the third phase of the M3 rollout. It was the first phase to run northbound from Deák tér on the line. The station's name comes from the square under which it is located. Consequently, from 1981 to 1990, the station was called Élmunkás tér, after which the square and the station changed to Lehel tér for the Hungarian chieftain Lehel.The station was opened on 30 December 1981 as part of the extension of the line from Deák Ferenc tér. It was the temporary terminus of Line 3 between 1981 and 1984. On 7 November 1984, the line was extended to Árpád híd.

The Lipótváros Synagogue was a planned but never realized monumental Budapest synagogue, which would have been built at the beginning of the 20th century and would have been a faithful reflection of the growing and enriching Jewry of Budapest with a capacity of 3,800 people. In the end, the building was not completed due to financial difficulties, its existence is only told by contemporary blueprints and newspaper articles.

The Glass House (Hungarian: Üvegház) was a building used by the Swiss diplomat Carl Lutz to help Jews in Budapest during the Holocaust.

Újlipótváros ("New Leopold Town") is a neighborhood in the 13th district of Budapest, Hungary. It is located north to Lipótváros ("Leopold Town") neighbourhood of the 5th District, with the Szent István Boulevard (Szent István körút) separating it from its southern neighbor, Lipótváros. It lies east of the river Danube, west of Terézváros, and south of Vizafogó. Unlike most other neighborhoods in the 13th district, Újlipótváros is considered part of the Budapest city center.

Batthyány's sanctuary lamp (Hungarian: Batthyány Lajos-örökmécses) is a national monument, located at the corner of Báthory Street and Hold Street in Lipótváros, Budapest, Hungary. It sits on the former location of the courtyard of the New Building, where Count Lajos Batthyány (1807–1849), the first Prime Minister of Hungary, was executed on 6th October 1849. In 1905, architect Móric Pogány's design, a large lantern, was chosen, though construction was delayed by the First World War. The unveiling ceremony occurred on 6th October 1926, with István Lebó, the last living army PFC who served during the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, present.This monument has been the site of several street demonstrations of opposition in 1941, 1943 and 1988.

Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street (Hungarian: Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út) is a principal street in the centre of the Hungarian capital city of Budapest. It runs north from Deák Ferenc square to Nyugati square outside Nyugati railway station. Towards its southern end it is joined by Andrássy Avenue, and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út metro station is located at this junction. The street is named after Endre Bajcsy-Zsilinszky a member of the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party and leader of the resistance who was executed toward the end of the Second World War.

The Columbo statue is a life-sized bronze work on Falk Miksa Street in Budapest depicting Peter Falk in the role of the fictional police detective Columbo. At the Columbo statue's feet is a statue of Columbo's dog, Dog. The statues, by the sculptor Géza Dezső Fekete, were put up in 2014 as part of a state-sponsored urban renewal project.Though Peter Falk and the street's namesake, 19th century Hungarian politician Miksa Falk, were both Jewish, and the actor Peter Falk had ancestors from Hungary, there is no known family relationship between them. The actor's Hungarian connection was not through the Falk family on his father's side, but through his maternal grandfather.

Oktogon is one of Pest's major intersections, located at the junction of the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and Andrássy Avenue (Andrássy út) in Budapest, Hungary. This junction, one of the city's most important, is named for its octagonal shape.Oktogon is also a station on the yellow M1 (Millennium Underground) line of the Budapest Metro, which runs underneath Andrássy Avenue to Heroes' Square (Hősök tere).

Oktogon is a station of the yellow M1 (Millennium Underground) line of the Budapest Metro under Oktogon. The station is located at the junction of Budapest's Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) and Andrássy Avenue (Andrássy út). It was opened on 2 May 1896 as part of the inaugural section of the Budapest Metro, between Vörösmarty tér and Széchenyi fürdő. This section, known as the Millennium Underground Railway, was the first metro system in continental Europe. In 2002, it was included into the World Heritage Site "Budapest, including the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue".

The Hungarian State Opera House (Hungarian: Magyar Állami Operaház) is a neo-Renaissance opera house located in central Budapest, on Andrássy út. Originally known as the Hungarian Royal Opera House, it was designed by Miklós Ybl, a major figure of 19th-century Hungarian architecture. Construction began in 1875, funded by the city of Budapest and by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary, and the new house opened to the public on the 27 September 1884. Before the closure of the "Népszínház" in Budapest, it was the third largest opera building in the city; today it is the second largest opera house in Budapest and in Hungary. Touring groups had performed operas in the city from the early 19th century, but as Legány notes, "a new epoch began after 1835 when part of the Kasa National Opera and Theatrical Troupe arrived in Buda". They took over the Castle Theatre and, in 1835, were joined by another part of the troupe, after which performances of operas were given under conductor Ferenc Erkel. By 1837 they had established themselves at the Magyar Színház (Hungarian Theatre) and by 1840, it had become the "Nemzeti Színház" (National Theatre). Upon its completion, the opera section moved into the Hungarian Royal Opera House, with performances quickly gaining a reputation for excellence in a repertory of about 45 to 50 operas and about 130 annual performances. Today, the opera house is home to the Budapest Opera Ball, a society event dating back to 1886.
