300 South Tryon

The Latta Arcade is an indoor shopping arcade located at 320 S. Tryon St. in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1914 to include a two floor atrium with stores and restaurants. There is a glass skylight over the atrium, which was originally used to allow natural light for grading cotton. It was designed by architect William H. Peeps.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

The Johnston Building, also known as the Midtown Plaza, is a 17-story office high-rise in Charlotte, North Carolina with an approximate height of 225.65 feet (69 m). Originally 15 stories when completed in 1924, it was the tallest building in Charlotte until 1926.

200 South Tryon is a 299 feet (91 m) tall high-rise in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was completed in 1961 and has 18 floors. It is the 19th tallest building in the city. Gerald D. Hines Interestspurchased what was then called the BB&T Building in December 1998 and began a renovation process that added another floor which was completed in 2001. and in the process was upgraded to contain all Class B office space. When completed as the NCNB Building, the building stood as the first glass high-rise in North Carolina. The NCNB Building and the George Cutter Building across the street may have been the state's first Miesian glass and steel skyscrapers. Both buildings were based on the Lever House building in New York City. The Commercial National Bank Building, completed in 1912 and 12 stories tall, once stood on the site.

It is now the 15th tallest building. Construction of the building began in 1972 and was completed in 1974.

The building consists of 32 floors, an atrium, plaza, seven-story parking garage, and is connected to neighboring buildings via skybridges, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

South Tryon Square is a development consisting of two 14-story high-rises in Charlotte, North Carolina. The first building, at 201 South Tryon, was opened in 1961 as the Barclays American; from its second renovation, in 1999, the facade was changed to the current gray and green granite with green glass and ornamental metal. The second building, at 237 South Tryon, was opened in 2001 as a hotel branded Courtyard by Marriott and houses the 698-space parking garage. Both buildings are also connected to the neighboring BB&T Center by dual skybridges, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a 36,500-square-foot (3,390 m2) museum space dedicated to the exhibition of mid-20th-century modern art. The modern art museum is part of the new Levine Center for the Arts in Uptown. The museum building was designed by architect Mario Botta. The museum is named after the family of Andreas Bechtler, a Charlotte resident and native of Switzerland who assembled and inherited a collection of more than 1,400 artworks created by major figures of 20th-century modernism. The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art opened to the public on January 2, 2010, with former mayor of Charlotte Anthony Foxx and Andreas Bechtler in attendance.

The Green is a one and a half acre park at 400 South Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. At one end of this so-called pocket park are the Mint Museum and the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art; at the other end is the Charlotte Convention Center. Next to it stands Charlotte's historic St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Green is the site of various public events, such as movie screenings and free plays, including summer performances by the Charlotte Shakespeare Festival. This park is frequently the site of public art and sculpture, including three giant computer-timed fish fountains, a popular feature with children in the summer. Mosaic benches and stools are tucked away in shady side paths. Five large sculptures by the French artist Niki de Saint Phalle stood in The Green from January through October 2011.The park has an overall theme of world literature. Prominent among the permanent sculptures are large bronze representations of books from the canon of world literature, for example, Roots by Alex Haley. There are quotes by famous writers and many whimsical direction signs pointing to real places but combined to form the name of well-known authors, for example, signs pointing to Edgar (Wisconsin), Allan (Saskatchewan), and Poe (Alberta). Other signposts point to cities named Charlotte around the world. Close to many takeout restaurants, the Green is a favorite lunchtime destination for people who work in Uptown Charlotte, and consistently gets five star reviews from user review website Yelp.com. It is also a popular venue for weddings and receptions.From late November to early January The Green used to feature a small ice rink—the only outdoor rink in Charlotte; but in November 2011, after seven years on The Green, the rink was moved to the NASCAR Hall of Fame plaza.The Green is owned by Wells Fargo and was designed by Wagner Murray Architects of Charlotte and was completed in 2002. This small and serene green space is an integral part of Charlotte's Second Ward.

Romare Bearden Park is a 5.4-acre public park located at 300 S. Church Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Named for Charlotte born artist Romare Bearden, it opened in late August 2013. It is across the street from Truist Field, the home of the International League's Charlotte Knights. Located in Uptown Charlotte, the park offers fitness and cultural arts programs throughout the year. The park design is based on Bearden’s collages and paintings as interpreted by supervising artist Norie Sato. It features two gardens, a courtyard of dining tables with chairs on a bed of crushed granite, a formal event green field, a play area with interactive digital chimes including dance chimes, and several waterfalls.The grand opening took place on August 31-September 1, 2013.

Ascent Uptown is a 33-story apartment building in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The building is 426 ft (129.8) tall and includes 300 units, 487,000 sq ft (45,200 m2) of floor area, 14,000 sq ft (1,300 m2) of two amenity top floors and 4,000 sq ft (370 m2) of ground floor retail. Construction began on February 1, 2015, and Ascent Uptown is the 6th residential building to begin construction in Uptown Charlotte since the end of the Great Recession. Ascent Uptown was constructed between W 3rd Street and S Poplar Street. It opened on June 19, 2017.It is owned by Greystar Real Estate Partners and was constructed on a build-to-rent basis.
