St. Peter Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic church at 507 South Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Established in 1851, it is the oldest Catholic church in Charlotte, and until 1940 was the only Catholic church in the city. St. Peter's was originally at the extreme southern limits of the city, but today it stands in the heart of uptown, across from major art museums and next to The Green. It is most likely the oldest surviving edifice on Tryon Street.The original structure stood from 1851 until 1892. The building was damaged during the civil war and in 1892 was deemed structurally unsafe. The present structure, in a simplified Victorian Gothic style rendered in dark brick, dates from 1893. As the city grew and new parishes were established in the suburbs, St. Peter lost so many members that it ceased being a formal parish in 1970, and did not regain full parish status until 1986. Since that time, in cooperation with other churches in Charlotte, particularly their sister church, St. Peter’s Episcopal, they have been working to help the poor and unfortunate of Charlotte through low-cost housing, help for AIDS victims, and outreach to the homeless. Since 1986, St. Peter's has been staffed by the Jesuits.A prominent feature of the church interior was a triptych by American painter Ben Long, a three-part fresco depicting Christ’s Agony in the Garden, Resurrection, and Pentecost. The fresco was severely damaged in February 2002 and cannot be fully restored. Following the damage to the fresco, the interior of the Church was renovated in 2007.

400 South Tryon, formerly called the Wachovia Center, is a skyscraper in Charlotte center city, North Carolina. When it was being built, there were rumors that the developer intended to add ten more floors to pass Bank of America Plaza, and become the tallest building in Charlotte. It is now the 15th tallest building. Construction of the building began in 1972 and was completed in 1974.

The Green is a one and a half acre park at 400 South Tryon Street in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. At one end of this so-called pocket park are the Mint Museum and the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art; at the other end is the Charlotte Convention Center. Next to it stands Charlotte's historic St. Peter's Catholic Church. The Green is the site of various public events, such as movie screenings and free plays, including summer performances by the Charlotte Shakespeare Festival. There are quotes by famous writers and many whimsical direction signs pointing to real places but combined to form the name of well-known authors, for example, signs pointing to Edgar (Wisconsin), Allan (Saskatchewan), and Poe (Alberta). Other signposts point to cities named Charlotte around the world. Close to many takeout restaurants, the Green is a favorite lunchtime destination for people who work in Uptown Charlotte, and consistently gets five star reviews from user review website Yelp.com. It is also a popular venue for weddings and receptions.From late November to early January The Green used to feature a small ice rink—the only outdoor rink in Charlotte; but in November 2011, after seven years on The Green, the rink was moved to the NASCAR Hall of Fame plaza.The Green is owned by Wells Fargo and was designed by Wagner Murray Architects of Charlotte and was completed in 2002. This small and serene green space is an integral part of Charlotte's Second Ward.

550 South Tryon is a 786-foot (240 m) tall, 48-floor (54 floors including mechanical floors) skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina. When completed in 2010, it was the largest building in Charlotte (in square footage), second tallest building in Charlotte, 63rd tallest building in the United States, and the tallest in the world to use precast double tees.Sonnenschein will use 35,000 square feet (3,300 m2) on the 34th and 35th floors and Deloitte will use 82,000 square feet (7,600 m2).Originally, the building was to be known as the Wachovia Corporate Center. It was to replace One Wachovia Center as the headquarters of Wachovia. Wachovia was to occupy 450,000 square feet (42,000 m2) of the 1.5 million square feet (140,000 m2) tower. Wells Fargo, which took over Wachovia December 31, 2008, planned to use five of its 14 floors.

Three Wells Fargo Center is a 450-foot (137 m) skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed in 2000, the building consists of 32 floors with 890,000 square feet (83,000 m2) of office space; it also includes an underground parking garage, an attached 10-story low-rise known as the Ratcliffe on the Green, and connects to Two Wells Fargo Center via skybridge, as part of the Overstreet Mall.

The Duke Energy Plaza is a 597 feet (182 m), 40 floor skyscraper under construction in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Upon its completion it will become the third largest building in Charlotte by leasable square feet and serve as the corporate headquarters of Duke Energy. It will house up to 4,400 Duke Energy employees and contractors. The entire building features 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) of space, including 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2) of retail space, a 7 floor parking garage for 1,100 vehicles, and will be a LEED-Gold Certified Class AA office tower. The building topped out on August 20, 2021 as reported by the Charlotte Business Journal.

Levine Center for the Arts on South Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina includes Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, the Knight Theater, and the Mint Museum Uptown. It was named for Leon Levine, whose foundation provided financing.

The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture, formerly known as the Afro-American Cultural Center, is in Charlotte, North Carolina and named for Harvey Gantt, the city's first African-American mayor and the first African-American student at Clemson University. The 46,500 sq ft, four-story center was designed by Freelon Group Architects at a cost of $18.6 million — and was dedicated in October 2009 as part of what is now the Levine Center for the Arts.

Museum Tower Charlotte is a 43-story apartment building in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The building is 455 ft. (139 m) tall and includes 394 units. Construction began on May 1, 2015, Museum Tower is the 5th residential building to begin construction in Uptown Charlotte since the end of the Great Recession. Museum Tower Charlotte was constructed over the Mint Museum Charlotte. It opened on June 16, 2017, 7 years after the opening of the Duke Energy Center next door.

440 South Church also known as the Ally Center is a 15-story high-rise in Charlotte, North Carolina with 368,000 square feet (34,200 m2) of space. Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates designed the building, and Bovis Lend Lease was the general contractor. Major tenants are Ally Financial and HDR. It was built according to LEED gold standards, making it a green building.

The Latta Arcade is an indoor shopping arcade located at 320 S. Tryon St. in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1914 to include a two floor atrium with stores and restaurants. There is a glass skylight over the atrium, which was originally used to allow natural light for grading cotton. It was designed by architect William H. Peeps.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

300 South Tryon is a office skyscraper in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a height of 463 ft, it is the 8th tallest building in Charlotte. It was completed in 2017. Ground breaking was on December 15, 2014, and construction was completed on November 16, 2017. 300 South Tryon was built on the last available undeveloped lot on Tryon and was the first high-rise office building in uptown Charlotte since the end of the Great Recession. The building has 638,000 square feet of space including 22,000 square of street level retail space, which makes it the 13th largest building in Charlotte by leasable space.
