Moorooka State School

Moorooka is a southern suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the 2021 census, Moorooka had a population of 10,783 people.

Yeerongpilly was a Legislative Assembly electorate the state of Queensland. Named for the suburb with the same name, the electorate was renamed before the 2001 elections from the previous name of Yeronga. In 2017, it was abolished and replaced by the electoral district of Miller.

Moorooka railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Moorooka. The station opened in 1887.To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services, and the Clapham freight yard.In 1996, as part of the construction of the Gold Coast line, the standard gauge line was converted to dual gauge.Moorooka passenger station is opposite the Clapham goods railway station.

Rocklea railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Rocklea. The station opened in 1885 at the same time as the line.To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services.In 1996, as part of the construction of the Gold Coast line, the standard gauge line was converted to dual gauge.In 2022, construction began on the station upgrade as part of the Cross River Rail project, with platforms raised and lifts added to platforms and the carpark entry via Brooke Street. The dual gauge track will also be provided with a platform.

Nyanda railway station was located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia between Rocklea and Salisbury stations. It opened in 1885 as Nyanda Crossing and was positioned so one person could manage the station and attend to the Beaudesert Road level crossing. It became an unnamed stopping place for workers at the adjacent Evans Deakin and Company factory in 1940 and was renamed Nyanda in 1951.In 1976, an overpass was constructed over the station.Most platforms south of the Brisbane River were progressively lengthened in the late 1970s to accommodate SX sets and the new Electric Multiple Unit trains. The existing platform used up all the available space between Beaudesert Road and industrial sidings at the north end of the station and there was no room to extend it. As a result, the station closed in 1978 when the Merivale Bridge opened.

Toohey Mountain is a mountain at the eastern side of the City of Brisbane's suburb of Moorooka. The rise was named after James Toohey, an Irish born Sydneysider who made his wealth in the California gold rush, before settling in the newly formed state of Queensland. To the north of the mountain is Tarragindi Hill and Wellers Hill. Grass Tree Ridge was the name given to the tall and long ridge that extends through parts of Tarragindi, Salisbury and Nathan, towards Sunnybank.Toohey Mountain is the site of two small reservoirs. It lies within the Oxley Creek catchment with Rocky Waters Hole Creek draining western and southern slopes, the Norman Creek catchment to the north and Bulimba Creek's catchment to the east. Also of note, there is an old Channel 7 rebroadcasting tower located on the Melaleuca Walking Track (about 200m - 300m from the Madang St entrance to the Fimbriata Walking Track) which although discontinued from service for many decades has recently been restored to service as a community wireless access point by the BrisMesh, a community wireless group.

Brisbane Christian College is an independent Assemblies of God Christian co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day school, located in the Brisbane suburb of Salisbury, Queensland, Australia. The college was founded in 1985 under the name Southside Christian College and is a ministry of Life Church Brisbane.

Yeronga Fire Station is a heritage-listed former fire station at 785 Ipswich Road, Yeronga, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by architectural firm Atkinson and Conrad, and built in 1934 by contractor William Allen Miller. It is a two-storey timber structure adjacent to Yeronga Park, and originally housed the station facilities on the ground floor and a residence for the superintendent on the first floor, a combination typical for Brisbane fire stations of this era. The station was decommissioned in 1974, when operations were shifted to the new station at Acacia Ridge. It was subsequently used as offices for the Queensland State Emergency Service, but was put up for sale by the Department of Natural Resources in 1999; as of 2014, the building was being used as offices for a consulting firm. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 23 April 1999.

Miller is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution. It was named after Emma Miller, a labour and suffrage activist and is represented by Mark Bailey of the Labor Party. Miller largely covers areas from the abolished district of Yeerongpilly. Located in southern Brisbane, Miller consists of the suburbs of Chelmer, Graceville, Sherwood, Tennyson, Yeerongpilly, Rocklea, Yeronga, Fairfield, Annerley, Tarragindi and Moorooka.

To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services.The station closed for a full accessibility rebuild from 18 September 2023 until sometime in late 2024.

Yeronga Memorial Park is a heritage-listed park at Ipswich Road, Yeronga, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The park has an area of 224,600 square metres (2,418,000 sq ft) and is one of the oldest in Brisbane, having been established in 1882, and has been a World War I memorial since 1917. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 2 December 2005.
