Yeerongpilly, Queensland

Miller is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. It was created in the 2017 redistribution. It was named after Emma Miller, a labour and suffrage activist and is represented by Mark Bailey of the Labor Party. Miller largely covers areas from the abolished district of Yeerongpilly. Located in southern Brisbane, Miller consists of the suburbs of Chelmer, Graceville, Sherwood, Tennyson, Yeerongpilly, Rocklea, Yeronga, Fairfield, Annerley, Tarragindi and Moorooka.

The Animal Research Institute, Yeerongpilly (ARI) was a government science complex at Yeerongpilly, Queensland, Australia, serving the agricultural sector of Queensland. A number of the Animal Research Institute Buildings are heritage-listed, added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 2008.

Animal Research Institute Buildings is a heritage-listed set of research station buildings at 681 Fairfield Road, Yeerongpilly, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is also known as Stock Experiment Station (1909-1932) and Animal Research Station (1932-1953). It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 13 June 2008.

Yeerongpilly railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Yeerongpilly. Immediately south-west of the station, the Corinda line branches off. To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services.The station closed for a full accessibility rebuild from 18 September 2023 until sometime in late 2024.

Moorooka railway station is located on the Beenleigh line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Moorooka. The station opened in 1887.To the west of the station lies the NSW North Coast dual gauge line primarily used by Gold Coast, NSW TrainLink XPT and freight services, and the Clapham freight yard.In 1996, as part of the construction of the Gold Coast line, the standard gauge line was converted to dual gauge.Moorooka passenger station is opposite the Clapham goods railway station.

The Brisbane International established in 2009 is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hardcourts in Brisbane, Queensland in Australia. It is a WTA Premier tournament of the WTA Tour and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP World Tour until 2019, when it was dropped from the ATP Tour. The tournament is held annually in January at the Queensland Tennis Centre just before the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open (part of the Australian Open Series). It is owned by Tennis Australia.

Martín García and Marcelo Melo were the defending champions, but García chose not to participate, and only Melo competed that year. Melo partnered with André Sá, but lost in the first round to Travis Parrott and Filip Polášek. Marc Gicquel and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won in the final, 6–4, 6–3, against Fernando Verdasco and Mischa Zverev.

Alla Kudryavtseva and Anastasia Rodionova were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate together this year. Kudryavtseva played with Alexandra Panova, but lost in the quarterfinals to Martina Hingis and Sabine Lisicki. Rodionova played with Arina Rodionova, but lost in the quarterfinals to Hsieh Su-wei and Sania Mirza. Hingis and Lisicki won the title, defeating Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, 6–2, 7–5.

The 2011 Brisbane International was a joint ATP and WTA tennis tournament, played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland. It was the 3rd edition of the tournament and took place at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Tennyson and was held from 2 to 9 January 2011. It was part of the Australian Open Series in preparation for the first grandslam of the year. During the tournament, $10 was donated for every ace to the fund supporting the current Queensland floods, which was unfolding during the tournament.

Lukáš Dlouhý and Paul Hanley were the defending champions but decided not to participate together. Dlouhý played alongside Marcelo Melo (lost in the first round to Tommy Haas and Radek Štěpánek), while Hanley partnered up with Jamie Murray (eliminated in the Quarterfinals to Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău). First seeds Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor won the title, defeating second seeds Jürgen Melzer and Philipp Petzschner in the final.

Victoria Azarenka was the defending champion, but chose not to participate this year. Kim Clijsters won in the final 6–3, 4–6, 7–6(8–6), against her compatriot Justine Henin, saving two match points in the third set. Henin marked her return from the tournament after her first retirement.
