Tamworth, New Hampshire

The Barnstormers Theatre, located in Tamworth, New Hampshire, is the oldest ongoing professional summer theatre in the United States. It was co-founded in 1931 by Francis Cleveland, the son of President Grover Cleveland. It is one of the few professional theatres in the United States that performs eight shows in eight consecutive weeks every summer.

The Cook Memorial Library is the public library of Tamworth, New Hampshire, United States. It is located at 93 Main Street in the center of the town, in an 1895 Queen Anne Victorian building which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The library's origins are in a private "social library" established in 1796 by Parson Samuel Hidden; the building was given in memory of Charles Cook, a prominent local businessman and politician.

In 1996, the house—along with a complex of five surrounding outbuildings and approximately 69 acres (28 ha) of field, pasture and woodland—was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in art, architecture, and local agriculture. It now operates under the auspices of the Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm.

Mill Brook is a 10.7-mile-long (17.2 km) stream in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the southern Swift River, part of the Bearcamp River / Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. Mill Brook rises on the southern slopes of Mount Whiteface in the town of Sandwich and flows southeast into Tamworth. The brook reaches the Swift River just east of the village of Whittier.

The Swift River is an 8.3-mile-long (13.4 km) river located in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Bearcamp River, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Swift River is located only four miles south of the larger and longer Swift River which parallels the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountain National Forest. The Swift River begins at the confluence of Paugus Brook and the Wonalancet River in the northern part of Tamworth, New Hampshire, south of Mount Chocorua. The river flows southeast through a narrow valley, which opens up as it reaches Tamworth village. The Swift River slows before joining the Bearcamp River between the villages of Whittier and West Ossipee. Mill Brook joins near the Swift River's mouth.

White Lake State Park is a 902.7-acre (365.3 ha) public recreation area in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The state park surrounds 125-acre (51 ha) White Lake, a typical glacial lake. It is open year-round and offers swimming, hiking, non-motorized boating, picnicking, trout fishing, winter sports, day-use area, group areas, and seasonal camping.The park's 72-acre (29 ha) stand of pitch pine trees was designated a National Natural Landmark in 1980. It is accessible by a walking trail that also passes a series of kettle bogs.

Hemenway State Forest is a 2,106-acre (852 ha) state forest in Tamworth, New Hampshire. It includes the Big Pines Natural Area, an area of large white pine trees, including one of New Hampshire's largest, accessible via a parking area and loop trail off Route 113A. The trail also crosses the Swift River with a wooden pedestrian bridge. A spur trail connects to an observation tower atop Great Hill.

Chocorua is an unincorporated community within the town of Tamworth in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located in the general area where Routes 16 and 113 meet, south of Mount Chocorua and Chocorua Lake. Mount Chocorua is commonly known in the area as the "Matterhorn" of the White Mountains due to its triangular summit. Chocorua Lake, along NH 16 at the southern base of the mountain, is a common stopping place for photos of the mountain landscape.

The Wonalancet River is a 7.6-mile-long (12.2 km) river in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in the United States. Named after the 17th-century Pennacook sachem Wonalancet, it is a tributary of the southern Swift River, part of the Bearcamp River / Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Wonalancet River rises in the heart of the Sandwich Range, in "The Bowl", a forested glacial cirque lying between Mount Whiteface to the west, Mount Passaconaway to the north, and Mount Wonalancet to the east. The river flows south, paralleled by the Dicey Mill Trail, out of the mountains into the communities of Ferncroft, in the southwest corner of the town of Albany, and Wonalancet, in the northwest corner of the town of Tamworth. The river continues east into a forested valley and joins the Swift River 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Tamworth village.

The Chocorua Lake Basin Historic District is a large historic district surrounding Chocorua Lake in the town of Tamworth in New Hampshire, United States. It includes more than 6,000 acres (2,400 ha), with the lake roughly at its center, extending from Washington Hill Road in the east to Fowles Mill Road and Philbrick Neighborhood Road in the west, and from the town line with Albany in the north to Heavenly Hill Road in the south. The district's significance derives from a large cluster of late 19th and early 20th century summer resort houses built around and near the lake, and the role the area's landowners have played in the conservation of the lake and viewsheds associated with it and nearby Mount Chocorua. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Chocorua Lake is a picturesque lake in northeast New Hampshire with commanding views of the summit of Mount Chocorua. It is approximately 1.1 miles (1.8 km) long (north-south) with a maximum width of 3,500 feet (1.1 km) (east-west), covering 222 acres (90 ha), and a maximum depth of 27 feet (8.2 m).The lake is most noted for its calm, serene setting. There is little to no development surrounding it, and its views of the bald summit of Mount Chocorua are unblemished by radio antennas.
