The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE; Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ባንክ, Oromo: Baankii Biyyooleessa Itoophiyaa) is the central bank of Ethiopia. Its headquarters are in the capital city of Addis Ababa. Mamo Mihretu is the current governor of the bank.The bank is active in promoting financial inclusion policy and is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI).

On 15 July 1960, at 09:04, Ethiopian Air Lines Flight 372, a C-47 Skytrain registered as ET-T-18, took off from Bulki, Ethiopia, on a short-haul flight to Aba Segud Airport, Jimma, Ethiopia. There were eight passengers, three crew and a cargo of coffee on board. At 09:40, the pilot requested the activation of the Jimma non-directional beacon (NDB) to assist his navigation. There was no further contact with the flight. The aircraft was found to have crashed at 9,400 feet into the side of a mountain 27.5 km (17.1 mi) south of Jimma, killing one of the pilots and leaving the passengers and remaining crew injured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

Black Lion Hospital or Tikur Anbessa Hospital (Amharic: ጥቁር አንበሳ ሆስፒታል) is a specialized hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, established in 1964. It is a main teaching hospital for both preclinical and clinical training of most disciplines in the School of Medicine of Addis Ababa University. It offers specialized clinical service that is no compiled with both the public and private medical institutions in Ethiopia.

The Tiglachin Monument (Amharic: ትግላችን ሐውልት, lit. 'Our Struggle Monument'), also known as the Derg Monument (Amharic: ደርግ ሐውልት), is a memorial to Ethiopian and Cuban soldiers involved in the Ogaden War. It was built during the rule of Mengistu Haile Mariam and is located on Churchill Avenue in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The monument is composed of various elements: a central statue, a 50 m tall pillar, two wall reliefs on the sides and two squares where the portraits of Cuban soldiers are visible. Some sculptures at the monument was given by the North Korean government in 1984, and was one of the project’s first monuments to be donated to Africa.

The Ethiopian National Theatre is a national theatre in central Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The Grace College of Business and Computer Science (GCBC) is a private college located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was established in 2001. GCBC is a member of the Ethiopian Private Colleges Association. It has been accredited to operate in various fields of study by the Ministry of Education, Region 14 Education Bureau, Arada and Kirkos Education Departments.

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Headquarters is a skyscraper in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that was completed on 13 February 2022 and became the tallest building in Ethiopia. It serves as the headquarters of the state-owned Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, the country's largest bank. It also is the tallest building in all of East Africa.

ALERT is a medical facility on the edge of Addis Ababa, specializing in Hansen's disease, also known as “leprosy”. It was originally the All Africa Leprosy Rehabilitation and Training Center (hence the acronym), but the official name is now expanded to include tuberculosis: All Africa Leprosy, Tuberculosis and Rehabilitation Training Centre. ALERT's activities focus on its hospital, rehabilitation of leprosy patients, training programs for leprosy personnel from around the world, and leprosy control (administration of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health's regional leprosy control program). From the beginning, ALERT provided leprosy training for medical students from Addis Ababa University. Also at ALERT is the Armauer Hansen Research Institute, founded in 1970, specializing in leprosy research. There is currently a 240-bed teaching hospital, which includes dermatology, ophthalmology, and surgery departments, also an orthopedic workshop, and a rehabilitation program. ALERT is the continuation and expansion of the leprosy hospital originally built by Dr. Thomas Lambie in 1922, which was later named the Princess Zänäbä Wärq Hospital. A memorandum to found ALERT was signed Dec. 11, 1965 by representatives of the Ministry of Health, Addis Ababa University, the International Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, The Leprosy Mission, and Dr. Eugene Kellersberger of the American Leprosy Mission, who had had the vision for establishing such a multifaceted center and had been the main promoter of the project.

St. Mary's University, established in 1998, is an Ethiopian institution of higher learning located in the capital Addis Ababa. After fifteen years of service as a college first and a university college since 2008, it earned university status from the Ethiopian Ministry of Education in September 2013. The university has four campuses in Addis Ababa, 13 Distance Education Regional Centers, and 160 Coordination Offices throughout the country. It has 200 full-time academic staff and 1000 employees. It caters to the needs of six thousand undergraduate students, twenty thousand students enrolled in distance education programs, and two thousand students in graduate programs. Eight graduate programs are run in partnership with Indira Gandhi National Open University. These programs include Business Administration, Public Administration, Library and Information Science, Sociology, Economics, Commerce, Rural Development and Political Science in the distance mode of learning. In the conventional mode of learning, St. Mary's is accredited for ten graduate programs: MBA, HRM, Project Management, Accounting and Finance, Marketing management, Development Economics, Computer Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics and Rural Development. The university has a testing center that provides standardized tests, job placement tests, and international tests such as the IBT- TOEFL and GRE. St. Mary's has opened a K-12 school that is widening its reach in the realms of general education.

The Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority (Amharic: የኢትዮጵያ የዱር እንሰሳት ልማትና ጥበቃ ባለስልጣን; EWCA) is an Ethiopian government agency responsible for wildlife conservation and management of protected areas in Ethiopia. Established in 1964, the agency is operated under Ministry of Tourism. In 2008, the institution was reestablished by Proclamation No. 575/2008. Currently, Kumara Wakijira has been the director-general of EWCA.

Zewditu Hospital is a hospital in central Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was built, owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, but was nationalized during the Derg regime in about 1976. The hospital is named after Empress Zauditu, the cousin and predecessor on the throne of Emperor Haile Selassie. Today, Zewditu Hospital is operated by the Ministry of Health.

The Lycée Guébré-Mariam (LGM) or Lycée franco-éthiopien Guébré-Mariam (Amharic: ገብረ ማርያም ትምህርት ቤት) is a French international school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was established in 1947 and ine the same year had integrated the Mission laïque française. It covers maternelle (preschool) through terminale, the final year of lycée (senior high school). It includes multilingual education in French, English and Amharic from preschool for all students. As of 2017, the school has about 1,800 students, ranging from 3 to 18 years.The French government spends around €4 million every year on LGM, which comes out to about €2,500 per student.
