The Stonehurst Family Farm and Motor Museum is a working farm and a motor museum located in the village of Mountsorrel, Leicestershire. The farm won the Leicestershire Tourism Award for Best visitor experience 2000/2001.

The Mountsorrel Railway was a network of industrial railway lines that served the granite quarries which dominate the Leicestershire village of Mountsorrel. After being closed in the 1950s, a section was reopened in 2015 as a heritage line run by the Mountsorrel & Rothley Community Heritage Centre.

Barrow Gravel Pits is a 35.6 hectares (88 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Barrow upon Soar in Leicestershire.This site in the flood plain of the River Soar has open water in the former gravel pits, marshes, hay meadows, woodland and scrub. Aquatic plants include yellow water lily, rigid hornwort, lesser pondweed and fan-leaved water crowfoot.There is access through a caravan park from Bridge Street.

The Soar Valley in Leicester- and Nottinghamshire, England is the basin of the River Soar, which rises south of Leicester and flows north through Charnwood before meeting the River Trent at Trent Lock. Soar Valley embraces the large villages of Quorn, Mountsorrel, Barrow upon Soar, Birstall, Rothley and Sileby and a number of smaller communities all on or near the River Soar as it flows from Leicester to Loughborough in Leicestershire. The area edges onto Charnwood Forest and the only double tracked preserved main railway line in Britain, the Great Central Railway forms a spine through the area.

The rural district of Barrow upon Soar in Leicestershire, England, existed from 1894 to 1974. It was established under the Local Government Act 1894 as a successor to the Barrow Rural Sanitary District, and therefore was also based on the Barrow Poor Law Union. It covered Barrow upon Soar and the surrounding area. It was increased by the disbanding of Loughborough Rural District in 1936, and also by the abolition of Quorndon urban district around then. It was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 and now forms part of the Charnwood district.

Barrow-upon-Soar railway station (formerly known as Barrow and Barrow-upon-Soar and Quorn) serves the large village of Barrow-upon-Soar in Leicestershire, England. The station is located on the Midland Main Line between Leicester and Loughborough, 108 miles 52 chains (174.9 km) north of St Pancras.

Main Quarry or Castle Hill Quarry is a 14.7 hectares (36 acres) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Mountsorrel in Leicestershire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.According to Natural England, this site "is probably the most dramatic and well-developed occurrence of asphaltite in Britain upon which international research into the origin of life on Earth has been carried out."The site is private land with no public access.

Barrow upon Soar is a large village in northern Leicestershire, in the Soar Valley between Leicester and Loughborough, with a population at the 2011 census of 5,856.

The Barrow Upon Soar rail crash occurred on 1 February 2008, some 300 yards north west of Barrow-upon-Soar railway station, in the suburbs of Loughborough. A train collided with a bridge which had been accidentally demolished by a lorry.

Quorn Hall is a grade II listed country house in the village of Quorn, Leicestershire.It is a three-storey brick built house originally constructed circa 1680 but later much modified. It is situated on the east side of the village of Quorn in 12 acres of land through which runs the River Soar.

Holy Trinity Church is a church in Barrow upon Soar, Leicestershire. It is a Grade II* listed building.

Beacon Brook is a brook which runs through North Leicestershire. The source of the rivulet is in Beacon, near Woodhouse Eaves. The water way runs through Beaumanor Hall before there is a convergence with the River Lin in Quorn. The river runs for around 6 kilometres between its source and confluence with the River Lin.
