Iveshead School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form situated within the town of Shepshed, Leicestershire, England.It was formed in September 2017 through the merger of Hind Leys Community College and Shepshed High School. In 2021/2022, the original school building was sold to St. Botolph’s Primary School, a school that was located on the same campus. The staff, students and others moved into the combined school, merging the two while the building was rebuilt and had extensions added, considering there was not enough room. The school takes in students from a variety of areas including Shepshed, Loughborough, Belton, Kegworth, Long Whatton, Diseworth, Melton Mowbray and Castle Donington. Previously a community school administered by Leicestershire County Council, in December 2022 Iveshead School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Mowbray Education Trust.The school also provides a much wider range of services to the local community. Enclosed within the school is a crèche, complemented by the Shepshed toy library situated nearby. D In the evenings, it also provides the necessary facilities in order to host various clubs and societies ranging from sports to lessons in a foreign language. Situated near the school is also a local swimming pool used for P.E. Lessons.

Shepshed Dynamo Football Club is an English football club based in the small town of Shepshed in the north west of Leicestershire, England. Founded as Shepshed Albion towards the end of the 19th century, the team played for the majority of their early history in the Leicestershire Senior League before a series of league wins and promotions the late 1970s and early 1980s, when they were known as Shepshed Charterhouse, took them within two promotions of The Football League. The club encountered financial difficulties in 1994 and reformed under the new name in recognition of the help provided by local side Loughborough Dynamo. They currently play in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

All Saints Church is in the village of Long Whatton, Leicestershire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Akeley East, the archdeaconry of Loughborough, and the diocese of Leicester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It dates mainly from the 14th century, with a tower dating from the late 12th or early 13th century, and its upper stage added in the 15th or 16th century. The church was partly rebuilt in 1865–66. In 1931 the Lancaster architect Henry Paley of Austin and Paley added a baptistry as a memorial to Lord Crawshaw.

Long Whatton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Long Whatton and Diseworth, in the North West Leicestershire district, in the English county of Leicestershire. It is south of East Midlands Airport, off Junctions 23 and 23A of the M1 motorway, and has easy access to Loughborough via the A6 and to Shepshed, Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Kegworth.

Stonebow Village is a civil parish in Borough of Charnwood, Leicestershire, England. In 2021 the parish had a population of 9. The parish was created on 1 April 2019, from parts of the parishes of Shepshed and Hathern and part of the unparished area of Loughborough. It is bordered to the west by the parish of Shepshed (the M1 motorway forming the boundary), to the north by Hathern, and to the east and south by Loughborough. The Garendon Park Development, also known as the West of Loughborough Sustainable Urban Extension, is a proposed development of 3,200 houses, with associated shopping facilities, schools, sporting facilities and employment areas, in the parish. It received outline planning permission in July 2018, and as of 2024 is being marketed by its developers under the name Garendon Country Park. As of October 2024 there are 13 listed buildings (the Triumphal Arch at grade I, the Temple of Venus at grade II* and 11 at grade I), one listed park and garden (Garendon at grade II), and one scheduled monument (the remains of the Cistercian Garendon Abbey) in the parish. All are within Garendon Park, the grounds of the former Garendon Hall. The highest point in the parish is Bellevue Hill at 68 m (223 ft), in the north, which has been described as "offer[ing] stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside". Stonebow Primary School, despite its name, is not in the parish of Stonebow Village but is in an adjacent unparished area of Loughborough.

Shepshed (often known until 1888 as Sheepshed, also Sheepshead – a name derived from the village being heavily involved in the wool industry) is a market town and civil parish in the Charnwood Borough of Leicestershire, England with a population of 14,875 at the 2021 census. It is the second biggest settlement in the borough, after the town of Loughborough.

Hathern is a village and civil parish in the Charnwood district of Leicestershire, England. The village itself is located in the north of the district, and is just north of Loughborough. It is served by the A6. The parish has a population of about 1,800. Nearby places are Dishley, Long Whatton, and Zouch, over the border in Nottinghamshire. Residents of the village have, in recent years, campaigned to prevent the green "wedge" separating Loughborough, Shepshed and Hathern from being built on. The village is home to the Swift Sock Factory, one of only a small number of independent sock manufacturers left in the UK.

Garendon Hall was a country home near Shepshed, Leicestershire, England. It was demolished in 1964.

Shepshed railway station was a station on the Charnwood Forest Railway. Near the town of Shepshed, Leicestershire. It was opened on 16 April 1883 as a stop on the line between Loughborough Derby Road and Coalville East. The station closed on 13 April 1931 when passenger services on the line were withdrawn. Today, nothing remains of the station which is now occupied by an industrial estate, although the line is traceable.
