Shepshed Dynamo Football Club is an English football club based in the small town of Shepshed in the north west of Leicestershire, England. Founded as Shepshed Albion towards the end of the 19th century, the team played for the majority of their early history in the Leicestershire Senior League before a series of league wins and promotions the late 1970s and early 1980s, when they were known as Shepshed Charterhouse, took them within two promotions of The Football League. The club encountered financial difficulties in 1994 and reformed under the new name in recognition of the help provided by local side Loughborough Dynamo. They currently play in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

Shepshed (often known until 1888 as Sheepshed, also Sheepshead – a name derived from the village being heavily involved in the wool industry) is a market town and civil parish in the Charnwood Borough of Leicestershire, England with a population of 14,875 at the 2021 census. It is the second biggest settlement in the borough, after the town of Loughborough.

Oakley Wood is a 48.1-hectare (119-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Hathern in Leicestershire.This site provides the only example in the county of the transition from oak woodland on free draining acid soil to the ash and hazel typical of the heavy clays of eastern central England. Rides add to the variety of flora, with woodland species such as lily of the valley and yellow archangel.The site is private land with no public access.

Shepshed railway station was a station on the Charnwood Forest Railway. Near the town of Shepshed, Leicestershire. It was opened on 16 April 1883 as a stop on the line between Loughborough Derby Road and Coalville East. The station closed on 13 April 1931 when passenger services on the line were withdrawn. Today, nothing remains of the station which is now occupied by an industrial estate, although the line is traceable.

Newhurst Quarry is a 9.5 hectares (23 acres) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the southern outskirts of Shepshed in Leicestershire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This is the only British site where hypogene mineralisation, deep in the earth, has been weathered during the Triassic, around 225 million years ago. It is also the only British site to have the minerals coulsonite and vesignieite.The site is private land with no public access.

Morley Quarry is a 3.1 hectares (7.7 acres) Local Nature Reserve on the southern outskirts of Shepshed in Leicestershire.The quarries are a Regionally Important Geological Site, with rocks dating to 600 million years ago. The habitat is grassland and heath, with heather and gorse. There is a pond which has breeding toads.There is access from Morley Lane.

Snells Nook Halt railway station was a station on the Charnwood Forest Railway. Near the village of Nanpantan, on the outskirts of Loughborough, Leicestershire. It opened on 2 April 1907 as a stop on the line between Loughborough Derby Road and Coalville East. The halt closed on 13 April 1931 when passenger services on the line were withdrawn. Today, nothing remains of the halt but the line is still traceable.

Ives Head is a 5 hectares (12 acres) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest south of Shepshed in Leicestershire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site exposes volcaniclastic sandstones dating to the late Precambrian, around 600 million years ago. It is important for the global understanding of the early evolution of Ediacaran environments.The site is private land with no public access.

All Saints Church is in the village of Long Whatton, Leicestershire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Akeley East, the archdeaconry of Loughborough, and the diocese of Leicester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It dates mainly from the 14th century, with a tower dating from the late 12th or early 13th century, and its upper stage added in the 15th or 16th century. The church was partly rebuilt in 1865–66. In 1931 the Lancaster architect Henry Paley of Austin and Paley added a baptistry as a memorial to Lord Crawshaw.
