Edinburgh North is a northern suburb of Adelaide. It is in the City of Playford local government area, the state electoral seat of Taylor and the federal electoral seat of Spence. The suburb of Edinburgh North was gazetted on 27 October 2011. It renamed Elizabeth West plus a small area of Penfield. The suburb is entirely industrial except for the St Patrick's Technical College. None of the suburb is zoned residential.

Davoren Park is a suburb at the northern extent of the Adelaide metropolitan area, South Australia in the City of Playford. The suburb was formed as part of a merger between Elizabeth Field and the northern part of Elizabeth West on 11 November 1993. It is named after the Davoren family, who were early pioneers of the area.The Playford North Urban Renewal project to expand and upgrade the area commenced in 2007 and is expected to take 10–15 years. The project focuses on the Peachey Belt (an unofficial designation roughly comprising Davoren Park, Smithfield and Smithfield Plains), which has been identified as a disadvantaged area.

Elizabeth West was a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Playford. It was established in 1955 as a satellite suburb to the Elizabeth town centre. The northern part of Elizabeth West was combined with Elizabeth Field to create the new suburb of Davoren Park in 1993. The remainder of Elizabeth West was combined with some land on its west removed from Penfield to create the new suburb of Edinburgh North on 27 October 2011.The part north of Womma Road was predominantly residential, the area south of Womma Road which is now in Edinburgh North was predominantly industrial. It was served by the Womma and Broadmeadows stations on the Gawler railway line.

MacDonald Park is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Playford. It is north and west of a bend in the Max Fatchen Expressway, bounded by Curtis Road and Heaslip Road on the north and west sides. The suburb boundaries were adjusted on 2 June 2011 when the Max Fatchen Expressway was built so that suburbs did not span the expressway. The area south of Petherton Road changed from Penfield to Macdonald Park, and the area between the Expressway and Andrews Road changed from Macdonald Park to Andrews Farm. Some of the current suburb and part of the land transferred to Andrews Farm was formerly the Smithfield Munitions Store, which had been closed before the expressway was built across it. The Curtis Road interchange is also built on former munitions store land.

The Hundred of Munno Para is a cadastral unit of hundred covering the outer northern suburbs of Adelaide north of the Little Para River and the flanking semi-rural areas in South Australia. It is one of the eleven hundreds of the County of Adelaide. It was named in 1846 by Governor Frederick Robe, Munno Para being a term from a local Kaurna Aboriginal people meaning golden wattle creek. This name refers to either the Gawler River (which starts at the confluence of the South Para River and North Para River) or the Little Para River.

St Columba College is a Catholic and Anglican school in Andrews Farm, a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The school has three campuses (junior, middle and senior) on both sides of President Avenue, the main street through the suburb of Andrews Farm. It is one of the leading schools in Adelaide's North, with over 1400 students across Reception to Year 12.St Columba College was the first joint Catholic and Anglican coeducational school in Australia. It was established in 1996 (first students 1997) as an ecumenical initiative by Ian George and Leonard Faulkner, the Anglican and Catholic archbishops of Adelaide at the time.

Womma railway station is located on the Gawler line. Situated in the northern Adelaide suburb of Elizabeth North, it is 27.3 kilometres (17.0 mi) from Adelaide station.

Andrews Farm is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Playford.

Broadmeadows railway station is located on the Gawler line. Situated on the boundary between the northern Adelaide suburbs of Davoren Park and Elizabeth North, and is located 28.2 kilometres (17.5 mi) from Adelaide station.

St Patrick's Technical College, (also referred to as St Pat's Tech, St Patrick's), is a technical college in the northern suburbs of South Australia's capital, Adelaide. Opened in 2007 by the Australian Government as part of the Australian Technical Colleges program, it now operates as part of Catholic Education SA.St Patrick's offers a technical focused senior secondary education (Years 11 and 12) and specialises in vocational education programs for students who wish to include a School-based Apprenticeship (SbA) as part of their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

Penfield 3 railway station was located on the Penfield line 25.8 kilometres (16.0 miles) from Adelaide station in the northern Adelaide suburb which is now called Edinburgh. It was built to service the Salisbury Explosives Factory, built between November 1940 and November 1941.Its remains are located opposite the eastern entrance to RAAF Base Edinburgh between East and West Avenues, south of Taranaki Road. It closed between 1988 and 1990, just before the Penfield line was closed and dismantled in 1991. The station sign and most seats, the track and some of the platform are now gone. The deteriorating canopy and the eroding remains of some of the platform, surrounded by trees, were still there in February 2018.Penfield 3 is the only station remaining from the line — Hilra was demolished in the 1980s, and Penfield 1 and Penfield 2 in the late 1990s. Penfield 3 is still accessible from Taranki Road, albeit behind a 1200mm fence designed to keep sheep off the surrounding roads.

Elizabeth North is a northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Playford. It is sandwiched between Main North Road to the east and the Gawler railway line to its west immediately north of Elizabeth and south of Smithfield. It is served by the Womma and Broadmeadows railway stations. It was established in the late 1950s as a residential suburb of the planned City of Elizabeth. As for its neighbours including Elizabeth and Elizabeth South, it was configured as a local community around a small shopping centre containing a supermarket, bank, hotel and service station along with other shops.
