Kamitsu Dam is a gravity dam located in Nara prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for agriculture and water supply. The catchment area of the dam is 18.9 km2. The dam impounds about 33 ha of land when full and can store 5600 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started on 1975 and completed in 2000.

Yamazoe (山添村, Yamazoe-mura) is a village located in Yamabe District, Nara Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 August 2024, the village had an estimated population of 3,077 in 1,307 households, and a population density of 46 persons per km2. The total area of the village is 66.52 km2 (25.68 sq mi).

Nunome Dam is a gravity dam located in Nara prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for flood control and water supply. The catchment area of the dam is 75 km2. The dam impounds about 95 ha of land when full and can store 17300 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started in 1975 and completed in 1991.

Yagyū Castle (柳生城, Yagyū-jō) is the remains of a castle structure in Nara, Nara Prefecture. Yagyū castle was constructed by the Yagyū clan in the Nanboku-chō period and became a home castle of the Yagyū clan. In 1544, the castle was attacked by Tsutsui Junkei's force and defeated. Later, Yagyū clan was approved as the main domain of Yagyū in Yamato by Oda Nobunaga. In 1590, Toyotomi Hideyoshi seized the territories of the Yagyū clan. In the Battle of Sekigahara, Yagyū clan joined the West squad and after the battle Yagyū clan was given their old territory by Tokugawa Ieyasu. In 1643, Yagyū Munenori built clan's new residence called Yagyū Jinya near the castle. Hotoku-ji Temple and Masaki school of swordplay are on site.

Yagyū (柳生町, Yagyū-chō) is a village near the city of Nara, Nara Prefecture, Japan. The center of Yagyū is about 20 km to the east, in the direction of Mie Prefecture on Route 369, from the center of the city of Nara. In the context of tourism, Yagyū no sato (柳生の里) also used to include neighbouring area to Yagyū-chō, which were mostly former territories of the Yagyū Han, incorporated into the city of Nara in 1957. E.g. Including, but not limited to, Yagyū-shimo-chō (柳生下町), Ōyagyū-chō (大柳生町). The area was formerly part of Iga province.

Minamiyamashiro (南山城村, Minamiyamashiro-mura) is a village located in Sōraku District, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 July 2023 the village has an estimated population of 2,472 in 1219 households and a population density of 39 persons per km2. The total area of the village is 64.11 square kilometres (24.75 sq mi).

Ōkawara Station (大河原駅, Ōkawara-eki) is a passenger railway station of West Japan Railway Company (JR-West) located in the village of Minamiyamashiro, Kyoto, Japan.

The 1331 siege of Kasagi was among the first battles of the Genkō War, which brought an end to Japan's Kamakura period. Emperor Go-Daigo, who had been plotting against the shogunate and the Hōjō clan regents, had hidden the Japanese imperial regalia in Kasagi-dera, a fortified Buddhist temple, atop Kasagiyama, just outside Kyoto, and was secretly raising an army from there. The temple was raided in the night by Hōjō forces under Suyama Yoshitaka and Komiyama Jirō, who climbed the cliffs surrounding the fortress, and set it aflame. The Emperor, however, escaped and fled. The temple was rebuilt in 1381, and destroyed by fire again less than twenty years later. Today, only a few buildings remain.

Mount Kasagi (笠置山, Kasagi-yama) is a 289-meter mountain located in the town of Kasagi, Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture in the Kansai area of Japan. The mountain is known for its many oddly shaped rocks and as a battlefield during the wars of the Kenmu Restoration at the end of the Kamakura period. The mountain has been protected from 1932 as a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty and National Historic Site. The mountain is also located within the borders of the Kasagiyama Prefectural Natural Park.
