The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is the principal law enforcement agency responsible for policing the Australian state of Queensland. In 1990, the Queensland Police Force was officially renamed the Queensland Police Service and the old motto of 'Firmness with Courtesy' was changed to 'With Honour We Serve'. The headquarters of the Queensland Police Service is located at 200 Roma Street, Brisbane. The current Commissioner is Katarina Carroll . The Commissioner reports to the Minister for Police, presently the Hon. Mark Ryan .

Task Force Argos is a branch of the Queensland Police Service, responsible for the investigation of online child exploitation and abuse. Founded in 1997, the unit's original charter was to investigate institutional child abuse allegations arising from the Forde Inquiry. The unit's name was derived from Greek mythology, in which Argus Panoptes, or Argos, was a primordial "all seeing" giant with multiple eyes, guardian of the goddess Io. As protector of the goddess, Argos was great and strong: sleep never fell upon his eyes, and he kept sure watch always. Technological advances and wider access to the Internet led the unit in 2002 to explore avenues to address growing community concern over the proliferation of child exploitation across the internet. Task Force Argos identified potential threats to children in online chat rooms, where sexual predators were grooming children and recruiting them to engage in sexual activity.

Roma Street busway station is located in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia serving the Brisbane central business district. It is located adjacent to Roma Street railway station and the Brisbane Transit Centre. It opened on 19 May 2008 when the Northern Busway was extended from Normanby to King George Square.It is served by eight routes all operated by Brisbane Transport.

The Brisbane Transit Centre, at 151-171 Roma Street, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, was a long-distance bus station. It was closed and demolished in 2020 along with its three office towers. It was commonly regarded as the ugliest building in Brisbane.Opened in 1986, the Brisbane Transit Centre is between the Queensland Police Service headquarters and the Roma Street Parkland. The complex includes a number of shops, cafes and restaurants, and two office towers. Access to the centre can be from the ground floor on Roma Street or from the Roma Street Parkland. In March 2016, GPT sold its half share in the property to co-owner the Australian Prime Property Fund.

The 1873 Roma Street railway station building is a heritage-listed railway station building at Roma Street railway station, 159 Roma Street, Brisbane central business district, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and built from 1873 to 1875 by John Petrie. It is also known as Brisbane Passenger Station, Brisbane Terminal Station, and Brisbane Terminus. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 24 March 2000.

205 North Quay is a skyscraper in the city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The tower will provide office space. 205 North Quay was designed by Hassell, REX and Richards & Spence after a design competition was held in 2019. The designed includes outdoor terraces on every level and rooftop facilities. The project is being developed by Cbus Property and Nielson Properties, together with Brisbane’s Raniga family. Level Two will house a gym, wellness studio, shower facilities and an open-air 25 m (82 ft) swimming pool.

The building comprises 144 serviced apartments and student accommodation from level 8 to 25 as well as 248 one and two bedroom residential apartments from level 26 to 56. A full floor resident's sky pool and terrace will be located on level 58. The development involves the retention of the historic King George Chambers building at the front of the site as a foyer and the main pedestrian access point to the new tower.Development application was lodged with the Brisbane City Council in June 2015.

Transcontinental Hotel is a heritage-listed hotel at 462-468 George Street, Brisbane City, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and built from 1883 to 1884. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

The station is one of four inner city stations that form a core corridor through the centre of Brisbane.Although not easily visible to the public, the original 1873 Roma Street railway station building still exists within the modern complex and is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.
