Kuttichal (formerly known as Mannoorkara) is a village in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India. The Kuttichal panchayath has borders with Aryanad, Poovachal, Kallikkad, panchayaths and Thiruneveli District of Tamil Nadu India. Kuttichal is part of Kattakada Taluk, Vellanad block panchayath and Aruvikkara Legislative Assembly. Kuttichal also has the kottor Elephant rehabilitation centre which is famous among tourists. Kuttichal is a village town lying under the foothills of the Agastyarkudam of the Sahya Mountains. The town is situated nearly 30 km East from Thiruvananthapuram, 14 km South from Nedumangad and 8 km North from Kattakkada. In beauty and all other aspects this is a typical Kerala model village. This is purely an agricultural oriented Panchayath; Coconut, Rubber, Tapioca, Banana and Vegetables are the main farming items. This Grama Panchayat consists of 14 wards and the people of all groups are living in harmony. Through this the State Highway road Nedumangad-Shorlakkodu SH3 (Tamil Nadu) runs. This road will become a part of new project The Hill Highway or Malayora Highway or newly named State Highway 59 (SH59)

G.Karthikeyan Smaraka Government Vocational and Higher Secondary School aka Government Model V HSS Vellanad is located amid of Vellanad, Thiruvananthapuram. The school started as a Lower Primary school in 1891, and from 1957 onwards, it became an Upper Primary school, and in 1962, it became the High School. In 1989, the VHSE Department started, and in 2000, the Higher Secondary Section was also launched. In 1998, the School won the PSSCIVE(Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education) Award. The school also won the State Award 2002-03 for establishing the best IT lab for the IT@School project. It also received Central Government's 2nd Computer Literacy Excellence Award for School-2003. In 2004, Principal K. S Vimalakumari was rewarded for the National Teachers Award. The school won the title 'MODEL' in the academic year 2012–2013. The school divided into four wings, such as Upper primary, High school, Higher secondary and Vocational higher secondary. The higher secondary wing offers courses for biology, computer science, commerce, humanities and most exclusively for journalism (under the Humanities group). Medical laboratory technician (MLT) and Livestock management (LSM) are the two courses offered in the vocational higher secondary wing. Later, the school was renamed as G. Karthikeyan memorial. Vembannur is a village located in the Nedumangad taluk of the Thiruvananthapuram District in Kerala, India. Vembannur comes under the Aruvikkara panchayat of the Nedumangad Taluk. The main attraction of this small village is the Aruvikkara Dam. This dam was built by the rulers of the Travancore princely state to supply drinking water to the city of Thiruvananthapuram. As of 2012, the water from the dam's reservoir is still in use. The dam is small, with only 20 feet in height, but stores a good capacity of water. There is a bridge connecting Vembannur to the outside world in front of the Dam. A single-track bridge, which is the only road link to the outer world from this village.
