Aruvikkara Dam (Malayalam : അരുവിക്കര അണക്കെട്ട്) is located in Aruvikkara in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. This Gravity and Masonry dam was built across the Karamana River and was completed in 1972 is used for irrigation and supplying drinking water to the city of Thiruvananthapuram. The Aruvikkara dam project came up in the 1930s and has been supported by the Peppara dam built in 1983. The height of the dam is 14.01 meters (45.96 ft) and the length is 83.21 meters (273 ft). The Aruvikkara Dam meets the irrigation needs of Thiruvananthapuram. The reservoir is also one of the water tourism sites in Kerala.

Aruvikkara State assembly constituency is one of the 140 state legislative assembly constituencies at the state Kerala in southern India. It is also one of the 7 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Attingal Lok Sabha constituency. As of the 2021 assembly elections, the current MLA is G. Steephen of Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Aruvikkara is a panchayat in Thiruvananthapuram district in the state of Kerala, India. The small Aruvikkara Dam (mini dam) which provides water to the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. G Steephen of CPI(M) is the sitting MLA of Aruvikkara constituency to the Kerala Legislative Assembly.

G. V. Raja Sports School is a State sports school in Aruvikkara, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, focused on developing young athletes in various sports. It is one of the three sports schools in Kerala under the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, alongside the Sports Division in Thrissur and the Sports School in Kannur. Founded in 1974, it is named after Lt. Col. P. R. Godha Varma Raja, known as the "Father of Sports in Kerala," to honor his contributions to sports promotion in the state.
