3KND is a community radio station which represents the Indigenous communities within Greater Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. 3KND broadcasts in Melbourne at 1503 on the AM radio band and also streams on the internet. By late 2006, 3KND had the beginnings of an mp3 library. In 2011, 3KND added DAB+ (digital broadcasting) to its broadcast services, which operate 24/7. As at early 2019, the station operator is First Australians Media Enterprises (FAME), formerly the South Eastern Indigenous Media Association (SEIMA). The station provides training for indigenous broadcasters.

1116 SEN (call sign 3AK) is an Australian radio station in Victoria, Australia. Owned and operated by Sports Entertainment Group, it broadcasts a sports radio format. It commenced broadcasting on 29 November 1931 as 3AK, the station currently broadcasts from studios in South Melbourne.

3AK is the call sign of SEN 1116, and the earlier on-air name of a former Melbourne talk-back radio and music station, which, in 2003, leased its licence to sports network SEN 1116. A number of unusual events and precedents throughout the station's history make its story of unusual interest. These events include (but are not limited to): In lieu of a "C" class licence, the granting of a "B" class licence in 1931, but with limiting conditions including: a position on the dial that could not be picked up by most contemporary radio sets; only allowed to broadcast when other Melbourne commercial stations were off the air, that is, most of the time only at night; limited power. The founder of the station was George F. Palmer, the father of Clive Palmer. The sharing of its wavelength with 2BS Bathurst, a station that was comparatively close geographically, thus causing interference problems. From 1954, permitted to broadcast during daylight hours, but only when its signal was perceived not to interfere with that of 2BS. Purchased in 1961 by Australian Consolidated Press and thus became sister station of GTV-9. Most high-profile GTV personalities also broadcast on 3AK. When some FM licences were auctioned off to existing AM stations in 1989, 3AK became one of the two successful Melbourne bidders, but the station did not take up the offer because of ownership changes. In 1990, purchased by Peter Corso. 3AK thus became an Italian language station for some years. In late 2003 the 3AK license was leased to Sports Entertainment Network and from January 2004 it became a 24-hour sports station, using the on-air name SEN whilst having to retain 3AK as its official callsign.

3RPH is a community radio station owned and operated by Vision Australia as part of the Vision Australia Radio network. The station broadcasts a radio reading service to Melbourne, Victoria, with repeater services in Warragul and Warrnambool, Victoria. The station commenced broadcasting on 12 December 1982 at 1692 kHz AM, before moving to the 1179 kHz AM frequency vacated by 3KZ. 3RPH is also a member of Radio Print Handicapped Network and a BBC World Service partner station.

Lower Plenty is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 16 km north-east from Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Lower Plenty recorded a population of 3,962 at the 2021 census. Lower Plenty, in earlier times part of Eltham, almost certainly got its name from the Lower Plenty Toll Bridge, built in 1860 to collect tolls across the Plenty River. This bluestone bridge still stands as part of the Lower Plenty Trail. A report of a court case, in The Argus newspaper, dated 1 May 1879, reveals two lads, Corkhill and Hodgson, "broke the windows of the old tollhouse, Lower Plenty bridge", some 19 years after the bridge was built. The suburb is bounded by the Plenty River in the west until it joins the Yarra River, which forms the southern boundary. Fitzsimons Lane forms the eastern boundary and Airlie Road north of Main Road (a continuation of Lower Plenty Road from the west) forms the northern boundary.

The Division of Jagajaga is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. It is located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, and lies north of the Yarra River. It covers an area of approximately 104 square kilometres and comprises the suburbs of Bellfield, Briar Hill, Diamond Creek, Eaglemont, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Heidelberg Heights, Heidelberg West, Ivanhoe, Ivanhoe East, Lower Plenty, Montmorency, Plenty, Rosanna, St Helena, Viewbank, Yallambie, Watsonia and Watsonia North; and parts of Bundoora, Eltham, Eltham North, Hurstbridge, Macleod, Wattle Glen and Yarrambat. The area is predominantly residential and light industrial, and includes the Australian Army's Simpson Barracks, the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital, the Mercy Hospital for Women and the Austin Hospital. Most of the City of Banyule and parts of the Shire of Nillumbik local government areas are contained within the Division's boundaries. Four Victorian Parliamentary Districts (Legislative Assembly) are represented in the Division, namely Ivanhoe, Eltham, Bundoora and Yan Yean. The Legislative Council Regions of Northern Metropolitan and Eastern Metropolitan are also represented.

Viewbank is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 14 km north-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Viewbank recorded a population of 7,030 at the 2021 census.The area now known as Viewbank is on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people. The Birrarung (Yarra River) and large tracts of the Yarra Valley Parkland run along one border of the suburb. The Plenty River forms Viewbank's eastern boundary, whilst its northern boundary is defined by Lower Plenty Road (a main road linking Heidelberg and Eltham). Although mainly a residential area, there is a small commercial strip on Martins Lane adjacent to Viewbank Primary School.

Westerfolds Park is a metropolitan park situated in Templestowe, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Westerfolds is classified as a metropolitan park and conserves riparian habitat within the Melbourne urban environment. The park nestles into a hilly bend in the Yarra River and has a network of bitumen and gravel paths, shelters, playgrounds, picnic tables and electric barbecues. It is a popular spot for picnics, and family gatherings on the weekend and public holidays. Other recreational pursuits include walking, cycling, rollerblading, walking the family dog, canoeing, horse riding and bird watching. Near the centre of the park atop a large hill lies the Manor House which housed the Mia Mia Gallery and Cafe, Indigenous Australian cultural education programs and gallery exhibiting Indigenous Australian Art. Mia Mia closed in 2013 and is no longer situated at the Park. New business tenants are currently being sought with a view to further develop, refurbish and restore the manor.

Yallambie is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 15 km north-east from Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Yallambie recorded a population of 4,161 at the 2021 census. Yallambie sits in the Ivanhoe State Electorate, and shares the same postcode as neighbouring Macleod. Yallambie is a residential suburb stretched between Greensborough Road to the west and the Plenty River on its east. Its southern border is Lower Plenty Road and Yallambie Road in the north. The predominant feature in Yallambie is the Simpson Army Barracks. Originally known as the Watsonia Military Camp, it was set up during the Second World War. Yallambie is also home to the Air Force Cadets and the Defence Force School of Signals. Yallambie's residential population almost doubled when a large parcel of reserved land behind the barracks was converted to residential use following rationalisation of military facilities during the late 1980s. This parcel of land is now known as the Streeton Views Estate. During the early 2000s The Cascades, an award-winning estate, set along a natural waterway was developed and provides a central feature of cascading water for residents of nearly 80 homes within the estate. The estate also offers relaxing and peaceful surrounds for the local community with wildlife and grassed areas along the water feature. Yallambie is home to the Federal Government agency Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA). Yallambie has never had a post office of that name, however the Simpson Barracks Post Office opened on 31 March 1987, replacing the Macleod office open since 1923, and was closed in 1996. A Watsonia Military office was open from 1942 until 1946 and a Watsonia Camp office was open from 1948 until 1952.Yallambie is also home to Streeton Primary School, which is a combination of 2 previous schools called Watsonia South Primary School & Yallambie Primary School which is located on the old Yallambie Primary School site. Streeton is named after well known artist Arthur Streeton. Yallambie's main pre-school facility is Yallambie Park Pre-School, which is located on the same road as Streeton Primary School. Public library service is provided by Yarra Plenty Regional Library. The nearest library is at Watsonia or Rosanna.

Templestowe Lower is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 14 km northeast of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Manningham local government area. Templestowe Lower recorded a population of 14,098 at the 2021 census. Its name reflects the fact that Lower Templestowe is situated on the Yarra River, but downstream from the neighbouring suburb of Templestowe. It is bounded in the west by Rose Avenue, Russell Street and Sheahans Road, in the north by the Yarra River, in the east by Ruffey Creek and Williamsons Road and in the south generally by Manningham Road. It is home to primary schools and a secondary school; Templestowe Secondary College. Like neighbouring Templestowe, it is poorly serviced by public transportation, lying geographically between three existing rail lines (Hurstbridge and Lilydale/Belgrave). An excellent and frequent bus service exists, running from Lower Templestowe into the city or to the nearest train lines.
