Town of Hindmarsh

The District Council of Hindmarsh was a local government area in South Australia from 1853 to 1875, seated at the inner north west Adelaide suburb of Hindmarsh. At the time of its establishment the population was approximately 3,500.

Hindmarsh is an inner suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Charles Sturt. The suburb is located between South Road to the west and North Adelaide. The River Torrens forms its southern boundary and the Grange and Outer Harbour railway line forms the northeast.

Hindmarsh Stadium (currently known as Coopers Stadium due to sponsorship from Adelaide-based company Coopers Brewery) is a multi-purpose stadium in Hindmarsh, an inner western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is the home of the Australian A-League team, Adelaide United. The stadium has a capacity of 16,500, of which 15,000 is seated. Home team Adelaide United regularly fill this capacity, and averaged crowds of over 12,000 to its matches during the 2006-07 season and 2007-08 season. United used the stadium for its home matches in the 2008 AFC Asian Champions League, the 2010 AFC Asian Champions League, and the 2012 AFC Asian Champions League. The venues will host some matches for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC) is an indoor arena located in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. It is used for sporting and entertainment events. It is the principal venue for concerts, events and attractions for audiences between 1,000 and 11,300.It is located on Port Road in the suburb of Hindmarsh, just north-west of the Adelaide city centre. With modern architecture and acoustics, function rooms and catering, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre provides a live entertainment venue for hundreds of thousands of people each year. In 2010 the Adelaide Entertainment Centre completed a $52 million redevelopment with a new entry and theatre complex.

Grange Road is an arterial road in the western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. It runs from South Road close to the city centre to the coast at Grange. The eastern end of Grange Road continues over the North-South Motorway trench as Manton Street which passes Hindmarsh Stadium, behind the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, then joins the City Ring Route at Port Road and Park Terrace via a short stretch of Adam Street.

Bowden railway station is located on the Grange and Outer Harbor lines. Situated in the inner-city Adelaide suburb of Bowden, it is 2.7 kilometres from Adelaide station. The station was rebuilt and reopened in January 2018, with the original platforms closed and demolished; the southbound platform was closed and demolished in April 2017, a section of the northbound platform was retained due to the original station's 1856 brick and stone station building being located on that platform, which now houses The Loose Caboose Café.

Hindmarsh Cemetery is located on the corner of Adam Street and South Road, Hindmarsh, South Australia and bounded by the River Torrens to the south. The cemetery and Sexton's cottage were included in the South Australian Heritage Register on 23 November 1989.

Thebarton ( THEB-ər-tən), formerly Theberton, on Kaurna land, is an inner-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of West Torrens. The suburb is bounded by the River Torrens to the north, Port Road and Bonython Park to the east, Kintore Street to the south, and South Road to the west. Many buildings and landmarks that bear the name of Thebarton were in the history municipality, the Town of Thebarton, which included most of the adjoining suburb of Torrensville. These include the Thebarton Oval, the Thebarton croquet and bowls club, Thebarton Theatre, and Thebarton Senior College. The historic Adelaide Gaol, nominally shown as being in Thebarton, and the adjacent Thebarton Barracks of the South Australia Police actually lie within the northwestern Adelaide Park Lands. A part of Thebarton adjacent to the River Torrens, later the site of the South Australian Brewing Company, was originally known as Southwark. Hemmington, Hemmington West and West Thebarton were also suburbs later incorporated into current-day Thebarton.

Thebarton was an electoral district of the House of Assembly in the Australian state of South Australia from 1938 to 1956. It was abolished and replaced by the seat of West Torrens for the 1956 election.

West Hindmarsh is a suburb of Adelaide, located in the City of Charles Sturt local government area. It is around 4 km west northwest of the Adelaide city centre. It is bounded on the south by the River Torrens, east by South Road, north by Port Road and west by streets separating it from the suburb of Welland which has the same north and south boundaries. Grange Road crosses the middle of the suburb. A Hindmarsh West Post Office opened around 1950 and closed in 1981.

The Town of Thebarton was a local government area of South Australia from 1883 until 1997. It was seated at the village of Thebarton, now an inner west suburb of Adelaide.

Bowden () is an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the City of Charles Sturt.
