Thebarton, South Australia

Thebarton was an electoral district of the House of Assembly in the Australian state of South Australia from 1938 to 1956. It was abolished and replaced by the seat of West Torrens for the 1956 election.

The eastern end of Grange Road continues over the North-South Motorway trench as Manton Street which passes Hindmarsh Stadium, behind the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, then joins the City Ring Route at Port Road and Park Terrace via a short stretch of Adam Street.

It is bounded on the south by the River Torrens, east by South Road, north by Port Road and west by streets separating it from the suburb of Welland which has the same north and south boundaries. The Hindmarsh Incinerator is a decommissioned incinerator located in the Adelaide suburb of Brompton in South Australia, Australia. Designed by Walter Burley Griffin, the architect and designer of Canberra, the incinerator was built in 1935 by the Reverberatory Incinerator and Engineering Co. Pty Ltd. as a means of disposing of household refuse. The incinerator was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate on 21 March 1978 and on the South Australian Heritage Register on 24 July 1980. It is listed as a nationally significant work of 20th-century architecture by the Australian Institute of Architects.

Hindmarsh Stadium (currently known as Coopers Stadium due to sponsorship from Adelaide-based company Coopers Brewery) is a multi-purpose stadium in Hindmarsh, an inner western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is the home of the Australian A-League team, Adelaide United. The stadium has a capacity of 16,500, of which 15,000 is seated. Home team Adelaide United regularly fill this capacity, and averaged crowds of over 12,000 to its matches during the 2006-07 season and 2007-08 season. United used the stadium for its home matches in the 2008 AFC Asian Champions League, the 2010 AFC Asian Champions League, and the 2012 AFC Asian Champions League. The venues will host some matches for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

The Islamic College of South Australia is in West Croydon, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It offers classes from kindergarten to year 12. It has been a working school since 1997 but opened in 1926, where it first set up next to the Wandana Mosque on Wandana Avenue in Gilles Plains. It moved to 22A Cedar Avenue in West Croydon in 2000. The Islamic College of South Australia is owned and managed by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC). In 2012 the school was in dispute with AFIC in regards to financial irregularities, which were uncovered during a federal audit.In 2013 a female staff member was dismissed for failing to adhere to the school's dress code. The teachers' union took the matter to Fair Work Australia.In May 2015 parents with-held their children from attending the college and have accused the board of firing principals and teachers. The Imams Council of South Australia expressed its concern, and the federal education minister said he takes these issues very seriously.In July 2015, a member of the board took a male student to a haircut salon, forcing him to get a haircut without his mother's permission.In October 2015 the entire school board was sacked. That December, all government funding for the college was frozen.In February 2017 the federal Minister for Education and Training, Simon Birmingham, said the school had failed to meet obligations relating to governance, to financial management and to regular reporting. He said that federal funding for the school would cease in April 2017.In March 2017 it was reported that, following a police request, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission had been undertaking financial investigations into the more than $1 million potentially missing and the high rentals paid to AFIC.
