Lingle Creek is a stream in Johnson County, Iowa, in the United States. It is a tributary to Hoosier Creek. Lingle Creek was named for Thomas Lingle, who operated a gristmill along the creek in the 1840s.

Stone Academy in Solon, Iowa is a public one-room schoolhouse believed to have been built in 1842, located about two miles north of Solon's town center along the west side of Iowa Highway 1, which was the Old Military Road linking Dubuque to Iowa City. It was formerly known as the Big Grove Township School #1. It is one of the oldest surviving school buildings in Iowa.It is a rectangular building built of limestone from the McCune quarry about two miles away. Its interior walls are plastered.It is currently a museum, open for tours by appointment only.

The Historic Ely Elevator, also known as the Woitishek-King-Krob Elevator and Feed Mill, is an "iron-clad" wood-cribbed grain elevator, located in Ely, Iowa. The Historic Ely Elevator was built in 1900 along the Burlington, Cedar Rapids and Northern Railway. It is a contributing property of the Dows Street Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Ely School House is a historic building located in Ely, Iowa, United States. The building was built in 1923 in the Tudor Revival style. After the building served as a school building it became the community center for the town of Ely. It now houses city government offices, City Council Chambers, a senior dining facility, meeting rooms and The History Center and archives. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2006.

The Dows Street Historic District is located in Ely, Iowa, United States. The area exemplifies the importance the railroad and transportation in general played in the development of the town's central business district. Community members revitalized a plat of land the railroad had abandoned into a commercial and residential corridor. The historic district is made up of several frame buildings typical of the Late Victorian style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2003.

Palisades-Kepler State Park is a 840-acre (340 ha) state park in Linn County, Iowa, United States, near the city of Mount Vernon. The park is located in a forested area on the bank of the Cedar River marked by bluffs and ravines. While the state created the park in 1922, it was greatly expanded in 1928 through the estate of Louis H. Kepler and further developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The park includes 5 miles (8.0 km) of hiking trails from which visitors can view local flora and fauna, including white-tailed deer, turkeys, black maple trees, and wildflowers in springtime. It also features a swimming beach, a boat ramp, and fishing sites on the river; fish living in the river include bass, channel catfish, and walleye. The park has 45 electric and non-electric campsites and four cabins along with a CCC-built lodge for day use.

Mill Creek is a stream in Johnson County, Iowa, in the United States.Mill Creek was named from the presence of a saw mill, built in 1839.

The Buresh Farm is located west of Solon, Iowa, United States, along the north shore of Lake McBride. Its historic designation includes five frame structures, the farmhouse and four agricultural buildings. All except one of the buildings is thought to have been built around 1894. The house features a gable roof and wide eaves. It has a root cellar beneath it. The barn, granary and wash house all feature board-and-batten construction. The barn has a wide gable roof that slopes to a shed roof on its north elevation. The granary has a saltbox roof. The wash house was originally built as a summer kitchen. Although its construction date is unknown, the hog house appears to be newer than the rest based on its nonconforming shape. While not particularly unique, the farm buildings are largely unaltered and reflect a late 19th-century agricultural operation that is disappearing from Iowa. The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Jan F. and Antonie Janko Farmstead District is an agricultural historic district located west of Ely, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. At the time of its nomination it consisted of seven resources, which included five contributing buildings, one contributing structure, and one non-contributing structure. The historic buildings include a two-story, wood frame, side gable house (1887); a gabled basement barn (c. 1887); a gabled barn (1893); chicken house (1880s, with additions from the 1940s or 1950s), and a single-stall garage (1910s-1930s). The corncrib (1910s or 1920s) is the historic structure. A three-stall garage (1972) is the non-contributing structure. The farmstead is located on a hilltop and sideslope. The house sits on the highest elevation, with the outbuildings located down the slope to the west and southwest. The first known owners of the farm were Isaac and Nancy Cox who farmed this property from at least 1859. Jan Janko settled here in 1864 and bought the property from the Cox's in 1875. From then until at least 2000 the farm has been owned by a Bohemian immigrant or a person of Bohemian descent. While the farm no longer reflects the initial settlement of Linn County, it does reflect the early settlement of Bohemian immigrants in the county. It is also significant that the original dwelling, probably a log cabin or log house, is no longer extant. Janko replaced the older house instead of adding onto it, which was more typical of the area's Bohemian immigrants.
