Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department, sometimes referred to as Santa Clara County Parks Department or Santa Clara County Parks, is a government department in Santa Clara County, California. The department manages 29 parks with a total area over 52,000 acres (21,000 ha).

The Santa Clara County Library District is a public library system headquartered in Campbell, California. The library serves the communities and cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Gilroy, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Milpitas, Monte Sereno, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, and all unincorporated areas of Santa Clara County. Other cities in Santa Clara County run their own library systems. In 2020 SCCLD also launched a new website featuring a 24/7 online library. Member libraries include Campbell Library, Cupertino Library, Gilroy Library, Los Altos Library, Woodland (Los Altos) Branch Library, Milpitas Library, Morgan Hill Library, and Saratoga Library. The Santa Clara County Library District has been repeatedly recognized as a four-star library by Library Journal. As of 2019, the Santa Clara County Library had a combined collection totaling 2.1 million items and served a combined population of 444,567.

Los Gatos (US: , Spanish: [los ˈɣatos]; Spanish for 'The Cats') is an incorporated town in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The population is 33,529 according to the 2020 census. It is located in the San Francisco Bay Area just southwest of San Jose in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Los Gatos is part of Silicon Valley, with several high technology companies maintaining a presence there. Notably, Netflix, the streaming service and content creator, is headquartered in Los Gatos and has developed a large presence in the area.

El Rancho Rinconada de los Gatos was a 6,631-acre (26.83 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Santa Clara County, California made in 1840 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Jose Maria Hernandez and Sebastian Fabian Peralta. Located in the southern San Francisco Bay Area, the grant included present-day Los Gatos and Monte Sereno, along with about a third of Campbell. It also included small sections of present-day San Jose, Saratoga and unincorporated Santa Clara County. Los Gatos Creek flowed through the center of the rancho. The name means "corner of the cats" and is derived from the cougars that are still present in the nearby hills, as well as the "corner" formed by the narrowing gap between El Sereno and El Sombroso mountains.

Good Samaritan Hospital, commonly known as Good Sam, is an acute care hospital in the Cambrian district of San Jose, California, with satellite facilities in neighboring Los Gatos. It contains centers for treatment of stroke and chest pain, as well as a large maternity ward. It has been owned by HCA since 1996.

The Earl and Virginia Young House, also known as the Young-Sartorette House, stands as a historic residence in Campbell, California. Constructed in 1928, it served as the home for Earl Young, a successful orchard farmer in the Santa Clara Valley, and his family. The house is historically significant in the Tudor Revival architectural style, which gained popularity in the mid-twentieth century. In 1981, the Herz family relocated both the house and garage to prevent them from potential demolition. The Young-Sartorette House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 8, 2009.

Manresa was a restaurant in Los Gatos, California that specialized in California cuisine. It was founded in 2002 by chef David Kinch. The Michelin Guide: San Francisco, Bay Area and Wine Country conferred two Michelin stars on the restaurant in 2007, and upgraded it to three stars in 2016.The San Francisco Chronicle rated the restaurant four stars in 2015. In 2012, Forbes rated Manresa the best restaurant in the United States. The restaurant was also a finalist in the 2014 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurant.In November 2022, Kinch announced Manresa's closure with its final day being December 31 of that year.

Monte Sereno (Spanish for "Serene Mountain") is a city in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The population was 3,479 at the 2020 census. The city is located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, about 10 miles (16 km) southwest of San Jose, and is bordered by the town of Los Gatos to the north, east, and south, the Santa Cruz Mountains to the southwest, and the city of Saratoga to the northwest. The city is named for the 2,580-foot (790 m) El Sereno Mountain, upon the slopes of which the southern portion of the city is built. The community is entirely residential with no commercial zoning and 99% single-family housing. It is an upscale Silicon Valley bedroom community. Monte Sereno shares the 95030 ZIP code with the town of Los Gatos. Many municipal services are provided under contract by Los Gatos.

Los Gatos High School (LGHS) is a high school in Los Gatos, California. It was founded in 1908 and is part of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union High School District, which in 2021 was ranked the best high school district in CaliiforniaThe school enrolls approximately 2,100 students and employs about 100 teachers. Los Gatos High School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has regularly received six-year accreditations, the highest possible. It has been recognized twice as a National School for Excellence. LGHS is also notable for its sports programs, most recently winning a Central Coast Section football title in 2019. The Los Gatos Wildcats are part of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League of the CIF Central Coast Section.
