Church of St Michael and All Angels, Bawdrip

Bawdrip Halt was a railway station at Bawdrip on the Bridgwater branch of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway. Although the line had opened in 1890, station facilities at Bawdrip were not provided until 7 July 1923, after petitioning by local people. The new halt was surprisingly popular, with 2,185 passengers using it between 7 July and 29 September 1923. It consisted of a single concrete platform 140 feet long; a waiting shelter was provided during 1924.The station closed when the branch service was withdrawn on 1 December 1952.

Bawdrip is a village and civil parish in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. The village is on the south side of the Polden Hills about 4 miles (6.4 km) north-east of Bridgwater. At the 2011 census the parish had a population of 506. The parish includes the hamlets of Bradney, Horsey and Knowle.

Cossington is a village and civil parish close to Woolavington and 5 miles (8 km) north of Bridgwater, in the Sedgemoor district in Somerset, England. The village lies on the north side of the Polden Hills.

Bridgwater was a rural district in Somerset, England, from 1894 to 1974. It was created in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894. In 1974 it was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 becoming part of Sedgemoor. It contained the civil parishes of Aisholt, Ashcott, Bawdrip, Bridgwater Without, Broomfield, Cannington, Catcott, Charlynch, Chedzoy, Chilton Common, Chilton Polden, Chilton Trinity, Cossington, Durleigh, East Huntspill, Eddington, Enmore, Fiddington, Goathurst, Greinton, Huntspill, Lyng, Middlezoy, Moorlinch, Nether Stowey, North Petherton, Othery, Otterhampton, Over Stowey, Pawlett, Puriton, Shapwick, Spaxton, St Michaelchurch, Stawell, Stockland Bristol, Sutton Mallet, Thurloxton, Wembdon, West Huntspill, Westonzoyland and Woolavington.

Bridgwater Without is a civil parish in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. It lies to the east and south west of Bridgwater. The parish includes the villages and hamlets of Dunwear, Horsey and Slape Cross. In 2011 the parish had a population of 428, however, if including the newly built suburb of Bridgwater: Willow Down, the population is 1,843.

Cossington railway station was a station at Cossington on the Bridgwater branch of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, built to link the line at Edington with Bridgwater.Opened on 21 July 1890 by the Bridgwater Railway Company, it was located to the north of the village, and consisted of a single platform with a stone building and a siding. This was controlled from a ground frame, the hut from which is now on the East Somerset Railway. The station closed when the service was withdrawn on 1 December 1952. Station Road leads to the former station site.

Woolavington is a village and civil parish on the Somerset Levels in the English county of Somerset. It forms part of the District of Sedgemoor, and is 5.2 miles (8.4 km) north east of Bridgwater, 7.2 miles (11.6 km) south east of Burnham on Sea and 11.9 miles (19.2 km) west of Glastonbury. At the 2021 census it had a population of 2,325.

Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) Bridgwater was a factory between the villages of Puriton and Woolavington in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, UK that produced high explosives for munitions. It was slightly above sea level, between the 5 and 10 metre contour lines on Ordnance Survey maps. BAE Systems closed it when decommissioning was completed in July 2008.

Stawell is a village and civil parish 4.5 miles (7 km) north-east of Bridgwater, and 2 miles (3 km) north-west of Moorlinch, in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. The civil parish includes the village of Sutton Mallet.

Puriton is a village and parish at the westerly end of the Polden Hills, in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. The parish has a population of 1,968. The local parish church is dedicated to St Michael and All Angels. A chapel on Woolavington Road was converted to a private house some 20 years ago. The parish includes the hamlets of Dunball and Down End. In 1996, the village was described as "now becoming a rural commuter village". The built-up area is mostly between 5 and 50 metres above sea level. The village has a full range of facilities, such as a primary school, parish church, pub, post office, butcher and hairdresser. It started to expand considerably in the 1960s and 1970s when new houses were built on former farm land, a former infilled stone Blue Lias quarry, Puriton Park, and on fields between the existing houses. The old Victorian school near the church was converted into homes and a new school built elsewhere. The Manor House was sold in 1960 and four houses were built on its former tennis courts; the House is in multiple occupancy.
