The March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Scotland Road is a historic road section in Windham, Connecticut. Extending along Scotland Road (Connecticut Route 14), from itsintersection with Back Rd. to 80 Scotland Road in, it is an evocative portion of the historic march route of the French Army under the Comte de Rochambeau in 1781 and 1782 during the American Revolutionary War. The troops camped beside the road within this segment in 1782. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Forty-Seventh Camp of Rochambeau's Army is a historic military camp site in Windham, Connecticut, located along Scotland Road a short way east of Windham Center. It was the site of a French Army camp in November 1782 on their march from the victory at Yorktown to Rhode Island. The camp site is considered of archaeological importance because it can shed light on transient military camp sites, whose locations are not often known. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Dr. Chester Hunt Office is an historic building on Windham Green Road in the village of Windham Center in Windham, Connecticut. Probably built in the early 19th century, it is one of the center's few surviving examples of commercial Federal period architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.

Windham Center Historic District is a 205-acre (83 ha) area in the town of Windham, Connecticut, that is designated as a historic district. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. At the time, it included 61 contributing buildings out of a total of 78 buildings, and it included 2 other contributing sites.

Beaver Brook State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area covering 401 acres (162 ha) in the towns of Windham and Chaplin, Connecticut. The state park encompasses Bibbins Pond, also known as Beaver Brook Pond, as well as the acreage northward as far as the Air Line State Park Trail, which forms the park's northern boundary. The park is a walk-in facility, open for hunting and trout fishing, managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

Windham is a town in Windham County, Connecticut, United States. It contains the former city of Willimantic as well as the communities of Windham Center, North Windham, and South Windham. Willimantic, an incorporated city since 1893, was consolidated with the town in 1983. The town is part of the Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region. The population was 24,428 at the 2020 census.

Beaver Brook is a stream that runs through Windham and Scotland, Windham County, Connecticut. It is currently five miles long. It begins at Beaver Brook State Park in Windham, Connecticut, and flows down to Merrick Brook in Scotland, Connecticut. A saw shop named after it is located near the border between the two towns.

South Windham is a village and census-designated place (CDP) in Windham County, Connecticut, United States. It is located within the town of Windham, Connecticut. The population was 1,421 at the 2010 census.

The Fourth Camp of Rochambeau's Army is a historic military camp site near Plains Road and Lovers Lane on the banks of the Shetucket River in Windham, Connecticut. It was here that the French Army encamped in the summer of 1781 under the command of Rochambeau on their march from Providence, Rhode Island to rendezvous with the Continental Army under General George Washington. Four divisions passed through, each one day apart.: E3  One of Rochambeau's aides described Windham at the time as "a charming market town, where, incidentally, there were many pretty women at whose homes we passed the afternoon very agreeably." Of the camp site, he wrote, "A mile away is a beautiful river (the Shetucket) with a fine wooden bridge. We camped on its banks very comfortably, though hardly militarily."The camp site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The next campsite to the west is also NRHP-listed as Fifth Camp of Rochambeau's Infantry. On the army's return trip in 1782, its 47th camp site (also NRHP-listed) was at a different location in Windham.: E4  The site is one of multiple properties whose possible listing on the National Register was covered in a 2001 study.

Merrick Brook is a stream that runs through the towns of Scotland, Hampton, and Chaplin, Connecticut. It begins at an unnamed pond in eastern Chaplin and flows down into the Shetucket River at the very southern part of Scotland. It flows through Clark's Corner, Hampton, and the center of Scotland. It offers many wild trout for fishing.

The Edward Waldo House is a historic house museum at 96 Waldo Road in Scotland, Connecticut. Built about 1715, it is a well-preserved example of colonial residential architecture, which was occupied by a single family for over 250 years. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It is now owned by the local historical society.
