East Dover, Vermont

Dover Town Hall is located in the village center of Dover, Vermont, at the junction of Holland and Taft Brook Roads. Built in 1828, it is a well-preserved example of a transitional Federal-Gothic Revival church building, converted to government use in 1875. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The South Newfane Bridge is a historic bridge, carrying Parish Hill Road across the Rock River in the village of South Newfane, Vermont. It is a Pratt through truss span, manufactured from rolled I-beams in 1939 to replace a bridge washed away in flooding. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Corse-Shippee House is a historic house at 11 Dorr Fitch Road in West Dover, Vermont. Built in 1860, it is one of the village's finest examples of high-style Greek Revival architecture, and is sited on one of the few town farmsteads that has not been subdivided. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008; it was previously listed as a contributing property to the West Dover Village Historic District.

The Williamsville Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge, carrying Dover Road over the Rock River in Newfane, Vermont. Probably built in the 1870s, this Town lattice truss bridge is probably the oldest covered bridge in Windham County, and is the only one surviving in the town of Newfane. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

West Dover is a village in the central part of Dover, Vermont. The village center, located on Vermont Route 100 at Cross Town and Valley View Roads, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as the West Dover Historic District. Hogback Mountain is a mountain in southern Vermont, United States, in the town of Marlboro, Vermont, just north of Vermont Route 9. Its main peak is 2,409 feet (734 m) high. The area is well known for expansive views from Route 9. Hogback Mountain Ski Area was located across Route 9 on Mount Olga and relied exclusively on T-bars for ascent. It operated from 1946 to 1986, using only natural snow, and blamed the cost of insurance for causing it to close. Countless local children learned to ski at the ski area, especially because free skiing was offered weekly to students from the nearby Marlboro School for years. Roughly 590 acres (2.4 km2) was purchased and given to the town of Marlboro as conservation land, known as Hogback Mountain Conservation Area. Some of the old ski lifts remain on the property, along with various buildings, including a fire lookout tower. Trails are semi-clear, as volunteers continue to keep some open and available to cross country skiers, backcountry skiers, hikers, and snowshoers.

The Windham-6 District includes all of the Windham County towns of Marlboro, Newfane, and Townshend. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Windham-6 District had a population of 3,807 in that same census, 6.21% below the state average.
