Marysville Getchell High School is a public high school in Marysville, Washington, United States. It is part of the Marysville School District. The campus has a capacity of 1,600 students and was originally organized into four "small learning communities", however, starting in the 2019-2020 school year, the school instead operates with no separation between the four schools. The four schools were previously operated as academies within Marysville Pilchuck High School (MPHS), which had a student population of nearly 3,000 at the time.The campus was funded by a bond passed in February 2006 and opened in September 2010.

Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America, also sometimes known as Tsubaki America Jinja or in Japanese as amerika tsubaki ōkamiyashiro (アメリカ椿大神社), was the first Shinto shrine built in the mainland United States after World War II. It was erected in 1986 in Stockton, California, and moved to its location next to the Pilchuck River in Granite Falls, Washington, in 2001.Gosaijin (enshrined Kami/Spirits) of Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America were Sarutahiko-no-Ōkami, ancestor of all earthly Kami and Kami of progressing positively in harmony with Divine Nature; and his wife Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto, Kami of arts and entertainment, harmony, meditation and joy. Also enshrined were Amaterasu Ōmikami (Kami of the Sun), Ugamitama-no-Ōkami (Kami of foodstuffs and things to sustain human life/Oinarisama), America Kokudo Kunitama-no-Kami (protector of the North America Continent) and Ama-no-Murakumo-Kuki-Samuhara-Ryu-O (Kami of Aikido). Tsubaki Grand Shrine of America was a branch of Tsubaki Ōkami Yashiro, one of the oldest and most notable shrines in Japan. The Guji (Head Priest) was Rev. Koichi Barrish, the first non-Japanese priest in Shinto history. The Board of Directors closed the shrine in 2023.

Arlington High School is a public high school located in Arlington, Washington and is home to the Eagles. The enrollment was 1,598 for the 2005–2006 school year. This school was built in 2002 after years of unsuccessful building bonds. The grand opening, after five years of raising funds, was on May 31, 2003.

Lake Stevens is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States, that is named for the lake it surrounds. It is located 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Everett and borders the cities of Marysville to the northwest and Snohomish to the south. The city's population was 28,069 at the 2010 census, but has since grown to an estimated 33,911. The lake was named in 1859 for territorial governor Isaac Stevens and was originally home to the Skykomish in the Pilchuck River basin. The first modern settlement on Lake Stevens was founded at the northeastern corner of the lake in 1889. It was later sold to the Rucker Brothers, who opened a sawmill in 1907 that spurred early growth in the area, but closed in 1925 after the second of two major fires. The Lake Stevens area then became a resort community before developing into a commuter town in the 1960s and 1970s. Lake Stevens was incorporated as a city in 1960, following an exodus of businesses from the downtown area to a new shopping center. The city has since grown through annexations to encompass most of the lake, including the original shopping center, and quadrupled in population from 2000 to 2010. A revitalized downtown area is planned alongside new civic buildings in the 2020s.

On October 24, 2014, 15-year-old freshman student Jaylen Fryberg shot five students at Marysville Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Washington, fatally wounding four, before shooting and killing himself. Fryberg's father, Raymond Fryberg, was arrested and convicted the following year for illegally purchasing and owning the gun used in the shooting, among other firearm offenses.
